Hmm. I see a couple people here who've just volunteered to help clean out Mithrandir's stables. And Andres, you in particular should know better by now. Perhaps taking away your trowel and making you use your bare hands (again!) will teach you a lesson.... ~;p


As for actual tactics one may use against them, I find that simple archers do a pretty good job of thinning out their ranks -- camel units are generally vulnerable to missiles, including plain old arrows. Otherwise, I usually try and pin camels down using 2-3 squadrons of light cavalry.

I've also found that archers do a very good job against camels. Target a few missile units on them until they are reduced to half strength and then overwhelm them with cav, they will soon rout. Or make use or fast HA to thin them out.
Or you could just try and play a faction that has camels:idea2:

Whilst the beautiful camel beasties can be hard to take care of I have always found that Chariots are worse. Other than camels do not run amok.

As previously stated arrows are the trick - barring the camel gunners from M2TW they are tough!

Ohh and as an aside did you notice that Andres avatar looked identical to the picture of "Meester fall-twee, meester fall-twee" he just posted.

Trebizond Archers will sweep the floor with camel guts. Any elite foot archer will because they have a longer range

Personally I am mostly in contact with aforementioned camels when I am the Byzantines. I have found that trebizoid archers do a fine job against them, but also that Byzantine Infantry -v- camels isn't such a fun fight for the camels! :sweatdrop:
