my screen goes blank when i come close to the egyptian army. any patch that can fix this?
if its patch 1.1 i cant find it.

Strange, did you mod the egyptians? There might be a unit in their army that the game doesnt think is supposed to exist in the egyptian army.
In your medieval 2 folder you should have a notepad file called "log" or "error log" open it and see what the last entry is, it should describe what caused the game to crash.

Also, as a rule, you should always download the most recent patch.
