Anyone else notice what looked like a Byzantine Zweihander type unit in the new Crusade campaign video? I though it odd.

thats awsome finally some good ground troops for the byzantines so when I play online i can actually play byzantines because everyone is so adamant about limiting cavalry when the Byzantines are a cavalry pwr. I find it so annoying how people always complain about cavalry, use spears and pikes for god sakes.

The teutonic infrantry wears heavy chainmail, they basically look like DFKs with fancy clothes, wouldn't call them super heavy.
And the Lithuanians also have infantry, maybe even super heavy(DFKs with axes!) and I don't see the problem with their heavy cavalry, could even be a bodyguard unit, the screenshot doesn't tell us a lot.

i mean only about lithuania. teutonic should be super heavy.
those horsemens are the latest cavalry for many factions, they look like english knights.
if you say that typical heavy knight with little halberd (aka dismounted noble or dismounted english knight) is normal for lithuania then i have no more questions :clown:

If I remember correctly, they said something about Lithuania in the Teutonic campaign preview video.

The original Lithuania doesn't have the western european units with heavy armour. But the video said: If the Lithuanians demolish their old pagan temples and convert to christianity, they can ally with other catholic factions and gain access to new technologies and units. So you have to decide whether you remain pagan and get boni from your temples but have antiquated units, or you convert and take a huge step forward in the field of technology but don't get temple boni and invite religious and social unrest.

Of course, the game is not historically correct. It is inspired by history, but it doesn't want to be a history lesson.

If youre correct about those alliances it make some sense in this. those armored guys with axes must be a gift from danes, cavalry - from polish, and rest of heavy infantry - hre. hre againts teutons :dizzy2: ?!

The Western stlye units are available to Lithuania once it converts to Christianity. Some of them though are available before that.

And does building a hanseatic league guild give us some new units or only increase our income? because i think that goal for factions such as hre, danes and russia will be to unite all hanseatic league cities.
