At once? Or total all time?

I think we'd be lucky to break the century mark... STW only reached the 80s.
With all the hype, I would certainly hope MTW will break 100. But... if such a historic event SHOULD happen... will it be sustainable over the long haul?
I hope so...
300 per day every day minimum would be kinda nice... But I fear it's a pipe dream...
GAH!
But hey! I see this glass as half full!
GAH!

All depends on how much the MP is promoted I guess, STW and MI sold thousands of copies but only few played it online. My guess: or great disappointment or an invasion!

Aiya, I can agree to that. I only just got into STW, no time to go multi as its dying. But M:TW is a new story!

GAH!
Nice!
Most I ever saw was 86...
Must be that whole timezone thing then. Maybe in Europe times -- ya know, when we are all still slogging away at work in the US -- there was more than 100...
Good to know Shoggy got past 100!
What is the most you've seen for WE/MI? Most I've seen is around 46...
GAH!

Well unfortunately EA f*cked up by putting MI on a different server.
If both STW and MI/WE had been in the same room, then obviously we would have seen a lot more people.
I hope MTW opens up more opportunities for more people to uncover the advantage of MP.

There were 74 people that played in the first 1v1 tourney I hosted, so I am sure there were over 100+ people playing that night. Big Monsta was of great help in keeping the lobby quiet and running smoothly if memory serves me correctly. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
Well i will be on....if more than 50ppl online when FasT is on i will be pleased. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

well, I'm most likely gonna churn out 2-3 single-player campaigns befoe I see any online mayhem...
I think it will start to increase after the game has been our for awhile and people begin to finish (or get bored) with single player.

The good old day! Give it back to me!
I remember my first battle. I went to 2x2 battle, allying with an Italian player (I forgot his name, I was a newbie back then, of course). I brought to battle 8 cavs (heavy and yaricav, no cav arch), 0 gun, 0 yari, 3 naginata, 2 archers and 3 monks. Result is evident: I got masacred.
My ally wrote in Italian to a friend of his in the foyer that I could decipher:
- allied with a stupid niewbie who brought naginata to attack a hill. And he orders his cav to charge the yari... lost a game...
Good old day... http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Do youz think being on GameSpy will attract more people to the game in of itself?

I believe it will, but it will also bring a different type of player as well. The community may not be as close-knit as it was in the old STW days, but there will definitely be more games available and opponents to play. The .org forum may want to establish another section to the forum which will allow everyone to discuss the arranging of game times, chat rooms, etc. .
That way we can keep in touch with all of our friends and not have to hunt to find out where they are and when they play. I hope MTW allows for IP games, that way we could hook up via an icq chatroom, and launch games from there like we did with Sid Meier's Gettysburg, when the MPlayer servers were down.

GAH!
That sounds complicated!
The EA foyer, for all its problems, made it soo easy to get games (assuming people were online and willing to play).
GAH!
i dont believe that gamespy will be a succsess to this game, coz our community becomes anonym...well, some may like it, but not me... i like the family atmosphear...
but i think thats the easyst way for acivision and CA to solve this prob....
lets pray...

vanya,
yes, a bit. depends on how they do it.
kocmoc,
i saw 140 once....just once.
i think mtw will hit over 300, maybe even 500 online, but that's a bit optimistic. remember though, this is the first time that any of CA's games have really been fully promoted, and, stw/we/mi do have a good reputation, even if not broadly known. we're still seeing folks trickle into stw/we/mi and i think part of that is coming from the recent promotion of mtw. folks want to know what all the hoopla is about, so i expect we'll easily double the old numbers and go over 300 at some point.
K.
