View Full Version : Questions! Religion/Sea Zones
Question #1:
With new sea zones how does that complicate/slow-down transporting units to faraway locations?
Question #2:
Could I control england and somehow become a jew, or a muslim, or an orthodox christian and then convert all my people like becoming catholic in shogun? And if so, can you also do this with 'pagan' or 'heretic'?

I seriously doubt it (as far as #2).

So you can't spread HERESY throughout the world? http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif
If you build HERETICs... what effect do they have then? Incite rebellions and/or puritanical outrage?
Maybe a beta tester can tell us...
Build 10 heretics and send them into a neighbor's province. What happens?
Leave them in your OWN... what happens?
Does a HERETIC have the same effect on a Muslim or Orthodox province as it does on a Catholic one?
GAH!

Kalt, in answer to question #1, IF you control all the sea zones between the province in which your army resides, and the target province, you can transport it there in a single turn. This can be good if you want to launch a surprise invasion, but (as Darkmoor Dragon has pointed out on his site) it seems it can be bad if, say, you're on a crusade . . . because in marching your army across Europe, through allied territory (the one time you can do so) if the province your army goes through has enough zeal, some of its units will desert and join your crusade - meaning you show up in Antioch, Jerusalem, or wherever, with a humongous army (which wouldn't happen if you just plopped them in there by sea).

But on the reverse of that, some nations that you would have to march through over land on your way to antioch or wherever might not let you march through their turf and you might have to fight your way through them, losing loads of soldiers, whereas by sea you wouldnt face this problem.
Also, walking province at a time from England to Jerusalem would take a hell of a long time and everyone may have lost interest in your crusade by the time you get there :P
So there are good and bad points for going by either land or sea...
