I've tried my hand at a game with the Turks, and while if I take it slow, I do relatively well(despite the AI cosntantly screwing me over, including the blasted Egyptians). I simply can't manage to get settled in properly in time for my Stages of Conquest(tm) to properly work. I realized that this is because, I think, the game's set to 2 years per turn, which only complicates stuff for me. How can I change it to it being 1 year a turn, I just can't find that option under 'Game Settings' or whatever.

I think this has been answered in the "let do the time warp again" thread currently on the same page as this one.

But the answer is that you need to mod a minor file in the game data and is described in chaper 5 of the FAQ sticky at the top of the Citadel.

Note that you will have to start a new campaign for it to take effect however...

You can, however, use 'MedManager' to apply this setting to a current save, if you back it up first and apply judicious grovelling appeals to your local diety of choice :grin:

NOt that hard but I wouldn't worry about time. If you already have beaten the game, you can play as long as you like. I wouldn't worry about time.

You can also go for 0.5 years/turn. I did my 1st Turk campaign that way and it was awesome. Keep in mind you need to modify the event dates too.

How do I modify the event dates? So far, it seems to be working pretty fine in my English campaign, but I'm not sure.
