and is MTW "different"... i mean, really different...
Dont know for the siege part of the game nor the strategic map things, but have to admit that, according to the demo, MTW=STW ... http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif

mmmm...

Why not get the demo and figure it out for yourself?

I have downloaded and tested the demo...
mmmm...

good game. really good game.
but I don t see big differences with STW:
same graphics, same commands, same tactic... perhaps few more options, but ...
is it enough for a "NEW" game ???

MTW looks like to be a leap forward in the strat side of things. The battlefield enhancements will be there just too subtle to notice without playing some major battles.

Also not the Demo AI is probably no better then STW while the MTW is touted to be much more effective.

Just think as STW as the extended beta test for MTW and you should have an idea how good it should be.

I think the developers had the phrase "if it aint broke, dont fix it" in their minds while creating MTW.

STW was a brilliant game and they dont want to stray too far from its winning formula while making MTW, obviously STW wasnt perfect, but i think MTW is enough of an improvement on STW to warrant me spending my cash on it.

However i can understand why people might feel slightly dissapointed that MTW isnt more of an improvement on STW, if you want more of the same great stuff as STW but with a few more features, buy MTW, but if you want and expect a completely different game, far in advance of STW, then maybe its not worth your money. Ultimately its your choice, come August the 30th, i know i'll be getting it http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

I think that medieval could JUST pass as a ttasly new game on the strat map side of things, but I think also that the battlefiled is mightily improved, just not all that different(would u want it to be?)
