View Full Version : Has your general ever been killed by arow fire?

I thought it wouldn't happen but it did. My general (in this instance, a prince) was struck dead by a Golden Horde arrow. Has this ever happened to you (in STW or in the MTW demo that is)? I thought it wouldn't happen!

I have seen it happen in the campaign game to computer, I never really let my general be shot at. I have done it in MP as well which was a pretty easy win.

Yeah I had a battle once where our two armies were clashing in a valley. Things were going my way until a group of archers came over the hill and started shooting at my general. He went down with the second volley.

Yes, my general has been killed by arrow fire unfortunately.........it was my own arrows! This is no joke trust me! I'm ashamed to even be speaking of it lol.

Im always scared to get my general stuck into the fighting, when he goes at the front of my knights when they go into wedge formation it always makes me nervous :\

It's easier to be killed by arrow fire in MTW cause your daimyo isnat superman where it takes 20 rounds of ammo.

Seriously though, I wasn't laughing when it happened http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/tongue.gif. It was actually during one of the first jaffa mods. My archers made poor Richard pay with his life, so Saladin could be removed from the arid plains of Jaffa!

Yeah this happened to me before. Only because I was stupid though. My general was in a unit of archers, and I just failed to realize he was being shot at because I was looking at a large group a ways away. It was wierd though, my army didn't even seem to care, they just went on fighting as usual, and ended up winning. I'm sure more died than would have though.

Some deadeye muskets of mine once knocked out the opposing general with the first volley of the battle! That ashi revolt was over quicker than a toffee sundae.

I have been doing some testing with Catapults in demo and just occasionally I have killed enemy General with first round.

I think this happens because the general is in centre front and that's where ranged units tend to aim for.
