Yes, I have been frustrated with the economics. I know the LTC mod worked on the economics for the merchants and at this point in the game the cash would be flowing. The ports and merchants are just not generating a lot of cash.
A war with France could get expensive.

Well, if you have cash flow problems, take the rebel settlements for more trade.

Of course you could have a crusade declared against the French. Any unit that takes the cross is free upkeep and if you complete the crusade you get a contentment bonus so you can jack up taxes.

Of course, you could also turtle, make your army more efficient (rid youself of mercs, use free militia in cities etc), and build financial structures.

From what I can see, Scotland only has Antwerp and Bruges, so he can still get Arrhus and the Scandinavian provinces, and Stockholm is supposed to make a lot of money.

France has been excommunicated, is a natural enemy of England via the game mechanics, and it helps your allies. Its time to unite the kingdoms of France and England under one crown.

The danes can be dealt with later.
