View Full Version : Small question about Kingdoms hotseat\auto-resolve

I've read that Kingdoms will support a Hotseat multiplayer mode, and I'm assuming that battles will therefore be auto-resolved.
Even if that's not the case, can anyone tell me if auto-resolve will be changed in Kingdoms so that it takes into account walls, and defenders fighting to the death?
Also, I'm not sure if this has been covered before or not, but will there be /any/ changes to the Grand Campaign at all?
Thanks.
I think i read somewhere that the campaign map won't be changed except for some tweaking/bugfixing from the 1.3 patch but i don't know about the hotseat.
It is a MP so u aren't playing on the same computer therefor the battle's will not be auto resolved....
are you sure i thought the whole point was two or more players changed the 'hotseat' in front of the one computer or do you need another to do battles?
There is a hoteseat and with kingdoms will come an MP hotseat....
or at least that is what i understood.

I'm 99.62% sure you're mistaken.
"Hotseat" and "MP" (the way you're using it) are mutually exclusive, by the way.
I was playing M2 kingdoms Hotseat with my wife and I notice that I simply can defend me when the AI strikes!
If they are sieging me when I hit the end turn in my next turn they simply took the city, without give me the chance to protect or defend me. The same goes to the ambushes and fights along the roads and fields!
I wanna know if it is a bug or something new (in my opinion a bad feature) of the game!?!?
thx!!!

Um, isn't there a auto resolve all battles type of thing to uncheck?

Yep, and it is unchecked!!! The problem is that the battles aren´t autoresolve (I dont have even the chance to runaway) they are simply resolved by the computer.
When my wife hit the end turn button I can see the flags of the other nations, but if one of them strikes me, I will know only in my turn when, often, I lost my troops!!
=/
Yep the hotseat is pretty much identical to 1.2 - you still can't fight defensive battles

O_o
Serious?
But why!? I mean... wht´s the real diference to a single player campaign? In fact, its one faction less for the computer command.... I really don´t understand why CA didn´t fix that! (reeeeeeally annoying)

inded! i hoped this was fixed because i considered the hotseat mode in 1.2 "unplayable" due to this shortcoming. well thats it for me with hotseat in kingdoms too... :furious3:
