anyone knows if MTW is as blessed with cut scenes (clips) and voice acting as STW, or more maybe ? they add a rich artistic dimension to the game, I hope they have a good one at least for victory in a campaign...

sorry, no cut scenes. I'm not sure about voice acting.
With the "battle" pronunced as Bar-Toe
They had a nice scene in the beginning and it would only go to say they would have voice acting.

Now that you mention the scene in the beginning, i think you mean the demo beg., correct? Well all those people that were oggling that one screenshot with the huge castle, go back and watch the whole demo cut scene. It has an absolutely monstrous castle in it, if I can remember right.
i think mtw may have cutscenes, in the gallery on the official site there's a section for renders, concepts, and cinematics.

It better have cut-screens, and an end thing after you beat the campaign with that faction.
I hope if they do have cut scenes they have a good number of types for each particular cut-scene. I hated only having about a total of four Ninja assassination cut-scenes.
Cut scenes were the best in STW. Here's hoping for them in the new game...

I'm talking about when you start up the demo and you see the knight crushing the scorpion with his sword.

SattP they actually have 14 ninja cut scenes, each having 2 possible endings (success or failure). There seems to be a problem in the randomizer, many players only have seen a few of those 14. look in your 'movies' folder of where you installed the game - they are in Real Player or WMP files.
Actually I think the folder for ninja cutscenes is "evanimes" or something like that.

I am pretty sure they have got rid of the Ninja type movies. I guess to get it quicker after you have seen them about 5 times you dont really watch them again. I hope the music is as good as for the Mongols, I love the throat singing.

I really, really hope that they fix the map bug. Whatever I tried I would get scrambled voices in the throne room and on the strategy map but it was fine during battles.

Indeed! The cutscenes were dependant on the target, Geisha, General, Priest, Daimyo and Emissary. Then there are the missions against the Mongols.
They'll have the cutscenes. Medieval\Loc\Eng\WarVoice is where the scripts for most of them are located.

I guess I'm the only ego-tripper around here...
I found myself quite eager to see the victory cut scenes. Actually, in conquer-all campaigns, they were the only reason I kept playing after the game was effectively done ( conquered most of the land, producing hordes of super-troops each turn etc.) . Running the scenes directly from the hard disk folder almost felt like cheating.
A suggestion how to make the scenes more interesting : plant relevant game info in them. For example, in a scene hailing the launching of a crusade, showing a column of knights and pikemen, the corner of the screen could show a merchant leading a supply convoy paying tariff to a custom agent, and the custom agent pocketing some of the gold... instead of just popping-up a window saying "corruption infests Normandy province, lowering your income... take steps..." etc. ,
or it can give you an estimate of the types and number of troops... they can be very short scenes, with maybe several hints and useful info, so paying attention could pay off.

It would be good if we could have cutscenes that we could enable or disable in the menu settings...
I do watch them at times...will my ( or the enemies ) ninja / geisha succeed / fail... ( love that suspense. )
Always a laugh when my excellent ninja that has survived many encounters gets slaughtered by some pleb emissary when I have a 90% chance of success. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
emissarys are samurai too

Of course...
My point is that the probable outcome dosen't always happen, and that cutscenes ( if you bother with them ) can reward the player by enhancing the game play.
Being able to turn cutscenes on or off or perhaps a full or abbreviated version would enable players that like them to use them and players who dislike them to avoid having to muck about getting rid of them.

I loved the cutscenes, they created loads of suspense as your ninja went for the kill or your emissary was being stalked, great stuff, i sincerely hope the MTW cutscenes are as good http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
Yeah... I loved to quickly bring my Emissary up to rank 3 or 4 so that enemy ninjas would kill themselves on him... I have always thought that the movies where the Emissary wins are the best. The generals wins are just plain boring.

I like the standard one of the emissary in the castle when the ninja fails. Looks around... where is the emis?/ slash.

You mean when he falls off the wall while trying to climb up it?
I only ever saw that once in-game and it was really a surprise. Didn't think CA would cover things like that!
cut-scenes are good but i agree if you have seen them all, then watching them over and over again gets boring.
Just to remind you that yes emissaries were samurai otherwise in the cut-scene they would not be able to carry a katana because only samurai could. But I'm sure you know that it's like common knowledge.

There was a cutscene where the Ninja fell off the wall (I know he falls in one of te Daimyo missions)???? Never saw it I think.
No the one he means is the one where the ninja has infiltrated the castle, kills the two guards and rushes in to kill the sleeping Emissary... no Emissary??? *Slash* "Urghhhh..."

I love it when they fail really early on in the cutscene, youve spent all that time training him up and he falls off a wall or gets killed by the first guard he comes to, brilliant stuff http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif
