View Full Version : Maurya scripting idea....

I have an idea that EB could implement in the next release.

When a faction moves into Patala or Taksashila, an advisor will pop up and say "Be warned my King! The Mauryans do not take our trespassing into their territories lightly. You may proceed in taking these provinces, but expect a violent counter attack". Something like that.

If the player sieges the cities, a rebel army will pop up and engage him immediatly. If the player manages to defeat the army and captures the city, a rebel army will still pop up from time to time to recapture it.

If the player loses, um, they can expect to be chased all the way to Iberia.:juggle2:

This is what I can think of to represent the strong resistance of the Indians towards Selukid or Baktrian conquests. This could be also a way to portray the presence of the Mauryans without actually providing a faction slot for them.

I seen this similar script when I play as the Lussotannans. So I think it can be applied to India.

Lucky you, something similar is already on the drawing board.

Good idea, hope to see such thing in the next release.
The Numantia script does not stop the Lusotanni from expanding, but it really slows them down for a couple of years, sometimes until this Eleutheroi family member dies of old age.
Perhaps such scripts could also be applied to other regions that were historically difficult to conquer. I think it's too easy at the moment to conquer the alpine regions for example. More scripted armies could be used to make up for the lack of factions in some areas.

Though I hope it's not all spearmen and longbowmen. It's kind of a mundane army for a Maurya. Hopefully there are some spare slots left for some Eleutheroi-only elite Indian armoured units. I mean, just some armoured spearmen. Nothing flashy.
