The Spanish realm is actually a whole lot more than it is cracked up to be. With the Valecians to the east, the Moors to the South, the Aragonese to the north, and the Castillians (is that right?) to the east; it's shaping up to be all out Total War!

The Valecians? Up until the Era of El Cid, Valencia was moorish, so it will be part of the almohad and after El Cids death it fell back into moorish hands. So no valencians, but the portugese will be there also. So there is still a 4-way free for all.

Castille is right next to Aragon. In the north you got the Portugese, Castille(C-Spain),and Aragon. In the south you got the Almohad.

I also have seen nothing of the "Valencians".

If you have seen the film El Cid with Charleton heston you will see that at the end he conquered Valencia and then defended it successfully. He even had help from some moorish princes and kings based in Spain.

So I think Steve is right. To the west(left) is non-playable portugal!!

If you look to the eastern partof the peninsula, you'll see a non-playable faction's banner occupying Valencia, and it's not the Almohads, Castillians, Aronogese, or the Portugese...

aye - every province has its own "rebel faction" by the name of its province - they aren't really factions though, just a less-generic name than simply "rebels".

Scots - scotland
Welsh - wales
etc etc etc

True, but the Welsh and Scots are non-playable factions. Here's the deal, any province or region not controlled by anyone of the 12 playable factions, its a non-playble one (needless to say). In all, there are 13 non-playable factions.
