Hi all

Just started really getting into M2TW after having the game for a while, so has anyone else noticed that Spain and Portugal seem to aim for the British Aisles rather than war against the Moors and reclaim Iberia. Wales and Ireland seem to be favourite targets of theirs. Im playing a Medium campaign, so is it different in harder campaigns and has anyone else had factions aiming for fairly strange locations to invade??

Cheers

I've only seen Portugal do it, but they do it all the way up to VH. In my experience, they proceed to do... nothing.

As far as other weird targets are concerned, I've seen Spain march an army all the way up to Caen, lay siege, and then despite having an overwhelming force, just pack up and head home. Inept.

Other than that, nothing. I'm lucky if Scotland even manages to capture Inverness in my games (I'm not kidding, I got to Bruges and Antwerp with my Russians, and both were still rebel!). This appears to be irrespective of difficulty.

In an English Campaign i didn't finish, Portugal arrived in Ireland with 3 Family members and as you said didn't do anything, eventually they all died. Spain has been more successful but im playing HRE so only contending with the AI i suppose

m playing latest version (1.2?) and there Portugal still goes for Caernarvon, haven´t seen Dublin taken but they conquered Caernarvon when i was playing French, and Spanish seem to send armies for Bruges and Antwerp, usually they don´t attack them, but just march through France to sit idle next to them.

I often see both these factions take Caernarvon and Dublin in almost every campaign I play, while they spain takes valencia and portugal takes Zaragoza, sometimes Bordeaux.

However England never takes ANYTHING, not a single settlement
