View Full Version : Favourite Flower Thread
Call me crazy, but since this is the Kingdom of Peace and Love I thought that a flower thread would be most appropriate and original.
Mine Sacred Lotus:

So post yours.
Not really a very special looking one:

Galium odoratum
It's not very brilliant either, but it spreads such a sweet smell in the woods by the end of april and it's eau-de-vie is sooo nice...
Wonderful thread.
I don't know much about flowers but I like tulips. Always reminds me of the friendship between Canada and Holland. Lovely symbology.

Daffodils. Y'all know what they look like. What they mean is winter is over :2thumbsup:

My favorite (and my mother's) is the Japanese Iris.

I also really like Cala Lilies.

One of my most popular photographs is titled "Foot, Snail, and Cala Lily," taken one moist California Spring morning in Mendocino. The composition needed counterpoint, so my sandaled foot was inserted. It worked out well.

You don't listen to 90ies hardcore with your woman, Andres? :beam:
As for flowers, I don't think I have a favourite, maybe grass.:sweatdrop:
The Cala Lilies Masamune posted looks very nice.:2thumbsup:
Tulips, not only is it the patriotic choice but there is also one hell of a story behind it, the first real market crash.

I second Beirut and Fragony in choosing the tulip. They remind me of my grandmother. ~:)

I second English Assasin, but add an illustration

I'm not sure which I prefer, but I also love the time of year when the bluebells carpet the woods.

Ahh the English countryside
~
So much colour! Here all we get is brown dirt and gray-green gum trees.
Someone said color?
(Someone said "Deleted hotlink pics" - Beirut)
You are no fun at all.
It's the keukenhof, worth a visit if you are ever to visit Holland

Fragony can't you host it at imageshack so we can see?

As a Welshman, how could it be anything other than the daffodil?

Just for the hell of it, moss flowers.

And Beirut just had to delete them. Cutting trees fine we need wood, but pictures of flowers, why hate that I ask?

Sorry, but I'm not too sure of their names - my very humble floral knowledge extends little beyond knowing the titles of the most simple of flowers.
