at .com :

Finally, we are excited to announce that The Creative Assembly will be at Leipzig on August 23rd with some HUGE news - and it won't be about revisiting Rome...

So,what do you think the HUGE news will be ? Also, what do they mean with the phrase : and it won't be about revisiting Rome?? Does that mean they won't make r2tw or is there something else i missed?

Cheers,

Hoetje.

Also that they are coming out with a new line of Medieval themed home improvement items.

Below is their first item-your very own ruler of England throne:

I just hope it won't be a fantasy total war... that would be so.... DOH !

God I hope not. Fabtasy total war would suck. Maybe they're revisiting shogun? Especially after the tag "and it won't be about revisiting Rome...." I would buy a Byzantine toilet seat. :D

Don't worry, this will be the greatest HISTORICAL based game ever!

HISTORIANS, total war!

Watch as your raging band of historians overruns a local college and forces the enemy faction to bend to YOUR version of history!

Why not, you could use a Dragon assassin to swoop in and bite King's head off while they march their armies around. But, I guess the King could just come back as Zombie King, and march on your cities, searching for his head. Which, of course, would have been touched by Midas and therefore made into part of the Dragon's horde, but since the Zombie King doesn't have eyes or ears, no one can tell him that, so he goes on a Zombie killing spree throughout all of Fantasy-land.

Yeah, maybe they should just stick with real things. Or not let me write their stories, in the least.

Total War: Paleolithic

This exciting new series will include over 5,000 different units(by this they mean 2,500 variations of both stick, and rock weapons), and over 100 factions! (most of which will just be slightly different then the other). Take part in the epic beginning of mankind, back when war itself was first developed! Help defend your tribe from natural dangers as well, such as Lions, Tigers, and Bears....oh my!

but seriously, i am gonna assume they declare some sort of "Total War: Global Conflict" or something being put into production

Who said it was even a new game. Maybe they will be giving out a Mod Development Kit or adding all of those changes we have non stopped bitched about. It could even be better AI features or a broken MP mode fixed.

Or, the lead designer of the ... is coming out of the closet and chooses this way to let the family/friends know. Its too early to even pretend to get excited about anything.

I peed a little when I read the fantasy total war idea, but lets combine the best of these ideas, how fun would that be, marching a gaggle of zombie peasants into some smurfs and watching them eat braaaaaiiiiins!

I hope its the release of M3TW, its exactly like M2TW, except the Artificial Stupor is replaced by Artificial Intelligence. It would truly be an entirely new game. Take all the time they would spend making fancy graphics and eye candy that my pc is 3 years too old to use, and get some state of the art AI programmers to deliver unto us the ultimate rush: getting owned by the AI......
What is this!?!? The AI just launched a 3 pronged attack with a diversionary force, anvil and hammer? My field army was completely crushed in 3 turns?... and then they besieged all my cities at once?.... and actually won every siege battle where they outnumbered me 6:1? ...AWESOME!!!!! I would never be so happy to lose a game.

Enough with the pipe dreams :opium: (what the heck?, there are hundreds of smilies and the one I need.....)

Contenders are....
-Shogun 2, but to maintain audience (Europe, US) they need European focus.
-Rome 2 TW, although its too early unless the engine is written entirely from scratch.
-Greece TW, who will be the TW alt-history Alexander? expand map well eastward to include central Asia (Modern day, not the Greek 'Asia')
-Napoleon TW, although the focus on gunpowder might be a bit of a leap.
and of course
-Armageddon TW, the forces of the Beast vs the army of the faithful, led by Christ, mounted on white steed, sword protruding from mouth. What!? Too Dogmatic?

No matter what era, we all know what the game's going to be.

Glitches: Total War. The battle between patches and glitches.

Use armies of patches to fight off the glitches. But be careful! If the patch general loses loyalty, he may rebel and glitch things such as the Parthian Shot... (RTW 1.2?)

A remake of Shogun would be cool, I've only played the demo (is that blasphemy around here?) but from what I remember it was quite enjoyable. As for speculation on a whole new game.....I'm leaning towards something maybe New World related since they will be exploreing this area with the new MTW2 expansion, maybe they will develop and expand on it.

It´s Blasphemery to not have played STW :skull: :whip:
I have played it (not expansion since my CD broke and keycode got lost eventually thanks to my brothers) and actually completed campaing once.
I think (and it´s just me) that the game will still be Sword/spear/bow based, so fantasy isn´t out of count but i´d say Napoleon TW is. Unless they totally change the Gunpowder troop reload speed and all it´s like shooting 1 massive volley at each other then reload while cannons and cavalrymen tear you into pieces.

I hope it's a China - 3 Kingdoms game. That would bring in the Shogun fans and still be something different. Or, I could go for Zombies: Total War.

I just hope it isn't a teaser about some new game for consoles. :inquisitive:

ReiseReise,

Those would have to be very small zombies for the Smurfs to get up there and eat their brains.

How about Faerie, Total War? Several factions of canibal faeries fight it out to the death (and dinner) throught the magic forrest! Troops that you cannot account for are considered missing, presumed fed.
