Priests Traits

I was wondering if anyone knew what Purity, Corruption, violent and peaceful have to with how effective a priest or what bearing it has when a priest gets one of these traits? I allready figured out what orthodox and unorthodox traits do (the hard way) and was wondering if anyone knew what these traits do for a priest?

I also heard that sending a priest to a province with low faith in whatever your factions religion is helps to increase a priests piety but so far my +2 piety priest has only gotten unorthodox traits from being in a region with low faith so far.

I'm sure someone will correct me but I think Violence and Purity effect your priests if they become Popes and and the decisions they make as pope. There missions and if they expand and what not.

True i think but out of curiosity what is it that orthodox and unorthodox does?

That's true, but the key to getting high piety priests is using them as groups. A single catholic priest in Sahara is only likely to get unorthodox and become heretic. When you use them as groups they convert the populace very fast and get many good traits. If one of them becomes a heretic denounce him using the other priests! I get loads of 6+ piety priests using this method. Of course, early on you cannot get many priests due to the low number of churches. Use what you have...

I also heard that sending a priest to a province with low faith in whatever your factions religion is helps to increase a priests piety but so far my +2 piety priest has only gotten unorthodox traits from being in a region with low faith so far. orthodox mean that your priest works on terrains where his religion is dominant. unorthodox means that he begins to be corrupted by other faith and starts doubting in his own religion and this can result in transformation onto heretic :)

I thought it had to do with training. I always send mine from a city with the theology guild. Is that not right then?

i already have teologist guild lv3 and great cathedral so pope and cardinals are all mine :whip:
