Rumour has it that retailers will have the game in their shops around the 21st of August...

If we all ask our usual supplier of games we might be able to get an idea of when retailers expect the game to arrive.

If we post the results in this thread we will have some infomation to analyze while we wait for the game to go gold.

It is not that I am overly impatient...

I just thought that we could all compare dates that our retailers give us and see if there is a consensus about dates amoung the retailers...or if they are plucking dates out of their...

(CA turn out a great product and MTW is not even overdue yet, please don't think that I am one of those bitter and twisted whingers that are never satisfied.)

In Tampa, Florida the release dates from EBX and Gamestop are August 21st.

I asked one major electronic company in Denmark. They said that they did not knew exactly, but expected the release in late august.

i am in the thinking that august and possibly september are out

its 3rd of august now and we havent even heard of it going gold

i would think making, shipping, distribuiting etc etc etc all those games will require longer than 3 weeks to accomplish =/

nah, it doesnt take 3 weeks, in most cases. usually a week or less, depending on the publisher and what they require after they get the thing.

i think it'll be out by late august, most places have a pretty deffinate date set. i'd only be worried if everyone was saying "early fall" "late 2002", which they aren't, so that's good. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Same here. I'm moving up to Tallahassee the 20th, after I get done unpacking and sleep I'll head off to EB to pick up my copy. Shortly after that I have a few Gamecube games I'm looking forward to (Mario in particular). Sophomore year will be off to a rusty start.

Here in the low countries release date is 7th of september according to Gamemania.

August, 31st says www.gamecaptain.de (http://www.gamecaptain.de) (German releasedate that is..). Wonder why it takes one week longer to ship to the netherlands??? Maybe they have to cross some bridges! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif

GAH!

It takes longer to ship to the Netherlands because the truck drivers take many more pit stops to visit the crack houses and brothels there... which are legal and all.

More pit stops, slower progress. That means slower delivery. That means a few extra days tacked on to the MTW release date there!

Uhhmmmm, I think they are not called crack houses but coffeeshops and they only sell "soft" drugs as e.g. marihuana. Crack is not legal in the Netherlands (as far as I know).

I agree though that even the consumption of "soft" drugs could lead to further delay in the low countries' shipping date of MTW... http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif

Marajuana and Hashish are legal, but there may be more. I go back to school Aug 14th, so Aug 21st will come and pass quickly. first week always does for me.

I'm wondering if there will be a deluxe edition (tin/chain box etc) with extras.

Problem in Aus is they tend to come out a month later. I would definitly like to buy the 'deluxe' edition if there is one and it has some nice trinkets.
