Maybe a stupid question and highly improbable but would it be possible to get siege weapons not only when assaulting a castle, but in the defence as well? I mean From what i've seen and played the defenders don't seem to stand much of a chance when being attacked (or maybe i'm just too good ;]) and being given something like a ballista of your own would be a real help...is it a possibility that this will appear in the game?

Yup - you can place balliasta right through to seige cannons in your castle to help defend it (if you retreat to it with those units that is)

Yeah as D&S said you have to have those units retreat to the castle otherwise you don't get the defensive seige engines.

The only things that are built into the castle walls are Arrow through to Cannon Towers (I think they go that far)
