View Full Version : Query - Using the Lists in Castles for free upkeep

Hey

In my current Spainish Campaign ive upgraded the jousting lists and it says that i can have one unit for free upkeep in the castle what units qualify i tried it with a miltia sword unit as it is a free upkeep unit but no go ?

Free upkeep for castles does not work.

It is unknown whether this is a simple text error or that the free upkeep for castles is truely bugged.

Interestingly, the problem isn't that the jousting list is broken, but that no castle-recruitable unit is flagged as a free upkeep unit.

It's too complex and deliberate to be a bug (every city unit is flagged as free upkeep, and every castle unit is not), so it must be intentional.

Something that changed halfway through development, no doubt.

i think it should be working only for knights, as building serves only for knights.

If you have enough florins to build a jousting list, you should have enough to pay the upkeep of your garrison :yes:

i building it very fast for exp. bonuses for knights. In fact for england i prefer to build it than another stables.

There is an easy modding fix to open up castle garrison slots. These slots will only be free if you have a unit that is produced by castles in there. Let me see if I can find the link......

This should at least point you in the right direction. I am almost sure that there is an automatic file patcher out there somewhere as well.

the free castle slots are also in the mod that was released by the CA member, custom campaigns I think it is

Yeah i think i read that about the custom campaign mod, i really only use the lists for the knight experience and i need to dispose of extra money so usally building everything. Be nice if dismounted knights got the exp bonus as well maybe one of the mods will add a melee field or something, brutal!
