Robin Hood's supposed name was Robin of Lockesley...it's in the list (of Lockesley).

Why is De Monfort a hero. He almost destroyed the English Monarchy

De Montfort was a great English hero who fought for what passed as a kind of representative govt, in mediaeval terms that is. The monarchy didn't take kindly to his attempts at limiting its powers. He almost succeeded, yet died courageously in his last battle.

don't you just hate it when great leaders have such uneventfull deaths!? Here's a few examples:

-Ghengis Khan died from a crippling disease that put him through excrutiating pains

-Frederich Bararossa died by drowning in a river on his way to the Holy Land

-Attila the Hun died of a nosebleed (nuff said).

-El Cid was hit by a stray Spanish arrow while defending Valencia from the Berbers and died soon thereafter.

-Robin Hood died of a crippling disease. It was said that before he died, he shot an arrow out the window of the inn his was staying in, and wherever it landed, he wanted Little John to bury him there.

I've seen a picture of El Cid from the game and he has blonde hair with no beard.

El Cid had Brown Hair with a Large beard.

actually the "heroes" are generic name templates - so they dont necessarilly refer to a specific "hero".

E.g. I got a "hero" assassin named "Guy"..."..Of Gisbourne" - came out as a 5star (valour) assassin instead of a normal one.

So the "heroes" names get attached to any "special quality" unit that get randomly generated in the game.

That isnt too say that the specific Heroes arent in there also - just that the names aren't always indicative of an individual hero.

(hope that makes sense)

Edit: Oh ive also had both "de Montforts" and a "Tankerville" - tankerville's always seem to be either totally corrupt or easy to bribe...

corrupt guys reduce income in the province - "easy to bribe" guys are just "easy to bribe"

Vlad The Impaler

["Tepes"] {"Tepes"}

What unit type would thes heroes be? There is a Historical Battle were you can be Joan of Arc; what unit is she in? Is El Cid a royalknight or something? Would Robin of Locksly have a ittle ban of "merry" longbows?

What about his father? He led the Albigensian crusade against the Cathars.

I guess that's why there's a "de Montfort the Younger" and a "de Montfort the Elder".

Hey DnS,
What exactly qualifies as a "special quality" unit? Only uniques, or what?
Thanks

probably - ive no idea how exactly the game assigns heroes to unit productions - it "appears" to be both unit AND province-built-in dependent (e.g. build enough urban milita in Angevin ENglish provinces and you'll get a "XXX de Normandie"...

but im fumbling in the dark with this tbh.

I "thinK" (but im not sure) that Ive got "Guy of Gisbourne" every time from building an assassin in Northumbria (Nottingham Castle)..but as i tend to use Northumbria as my "spy centre" when i play that may not be such a conincidence as it seems.
