Great stuff DnS, the game just seems to get better and better, I love the fact that no figure in the game is seemingly above the player's sphere of influence.

Forgot to say why btw:

I'd been excommunicated for "aggression toward fellow catholics" - and my provinces were close to revolt - so i assassinated the pope. When a new pope is elected all prior excomunications are declared null and void - thereby lifting my excomunication.

Neat huh?

NB: The particular assassin is a "hero" btw - produced out of the build queue at rank 5 - kinda handy ;-)

which equates to 25 years before bankruptcy now that the italians are blockading my trade routes.... (I lose 7k a year atm with just farm income and my existing army costs) and thats without building anything new or an army to attack anywhere else with...

Sounds like a lot of cash - its actually not a lot at all...and im in deep trouble. (I got excomunicated by sinking Italian ships trying to clear the blocakdes you see - and the buggers wont sue for a ceasefire and i dont have the army spare to attack them [and the pope would excomunicate me again which would cause a rebellion atm as ive really low loyalty in some areas])

The map looks great - about a fifth of the provinces conquered and 200 years left - its actually bloomin risky atm and only going to get harder.

The turks are DAMN mean - they are ripping the Horde to shreds atm as well as the byzantines (erm they killed em off actually) and the Sicilians are also on the back foot - I've barely managed to hold onto Lithuania due to the timely arrively of pikemen and halbediers - their cavalry owned me up until then... and i still cant attak them as they just dance around my slow foot.

Yeah from the description of the Lithuainian Light Cavalry I read they sound pretty versatile. What kind of units did you use to take control of Africa? Any Cavs? And what unit, in your opinion, is better (cost vs benefits), pikemen or billmen?
