I was looking around at price for MTW and found that EB was offering a pre order of £35(sterling).I cam across another site offering the pre order game for $35 (US dollars)

How come there is such a big difference in price.I can post links if needed.

I expect to pay $ 105 NZ for it.

The rule of thumb conversion rate $nz to sterling is approx $ 3 nz to 1 pound, so your price seems comparable to ours.

Well the Aussie price is $90.

How does £26 grab you for UK price?
www.play.com (http://www.play.com)

Anyone found it cheaper for UK?

£26 is a bargain in UK.

The reason things in UK are so expensive is because of tax(VAT). Computer games are a luxury so they at 17.5% of the true price onto it.

£26 is a great price, unfortunately I cant wait a few days for delivery. I would sooner pay £35 and have it on the first day of release. 30 of August appears to be the popular concesus for a release date in the UK now.

Preorder at Amazon.com is about $45 USD ($39.99 + $4.08) including shipping fee.

If you order $49 or more, you won't have to pay for shipping fee.

If I book a copy at CompUSA, it will cost $39.99 plus tax. About the same price as Amazon.com

Don't get it from Amazon! They have the release listed as Oct. 1st. Electronics Botique has it as Aug 20th. Even if this date isn't right (*crosses fingers 'please let it be right, please let it be right'*) they'll get it before amazon.com for sure. If you don't have E.B. in your area, then just check out some other retailers, I'm sure they'll have it before then.

Anyone wondering about play.com's service, I have used them regulalry for DVD's and had no problems, but not games yet, MTW will be my first which I have just ordered.

ShadeWraith,
I ordered Harry Potter (UK version) and received it the day before it was in the shops. i.e. before official release date.
I think this happens because they allow for 3 days postage but it only takes 2 to get to me. So if play manage to get stock of MTW early enough you could well be playing MTW a day before it's in the shops.

Well... in Tarranak the price is 40 heads.

So Krast better get busy collecting them, or he'll have a hard time paying for the game...!

Only downside to buying games to keep the wife/kids quiet is they keep pestering you to help them......they drove me mad with that bloody harry potter game. Catching the snitch and beating voldemort at the end...what a pain http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif

That is why you should "buy them Shoggy"... that way, when they clamor for your assistance, you will be glad to intervene and cut heads off!

I suppose I should have made it clear that it was Harry Potter film on DVD not the game that I bought and had it turn up 1 day before release.
