Introducing
for the first time ever...
Europa Crudus

Concept
The aim of the Europa Crudus is to create an environment that is as immersive and historically accurate as possible, while still preserving the gameplay of Medieval II:Total War. We also hope to exploit any and all available resources that become available as a result of the upcoming release of the Kingdoms expansion pack. Unlike some other mods, which limit themselves to more accurately portraying certain geographies or nationalities, our mod intends to inject a much needed dose of playable historical accuracy across the board.

Current Goals
While anticipating the release of Kingdoms, we are currently engaged in setting up our map. We have also begun to tweak several traits, ancillaries, and so on. We have also secured permission to include several existing mini-mods into our overall product. We have amassed an immense amount of historical data via our current research team, all of which will be of continual value to the team as we progress.

Upcoming projects
Our future and upcoming projects include (appearing here in no particular order), but are in no way limited to:
-progressively adding factions up to the 31-faction limit.
-implementation of any applicable features from Kingdoms
-reskins in accordance with more historical conventions of medieval army dress
-creation of several new historically accurate units
-the original MII:TW map utilizing the entire 198-province limit
-historically accurate family trees for all factions

Current Team
The current Europa Crudus team consists of:

Frederick_I_Barbarossa: Mod Lead, Head Researcher

Tanmos: Mod Manager, Scripter, Photoshoppist, Skinner, Et cetera ad nausea

Can you reveal your faction list?

Also, will you include the Americas in your game?

Thanks :book: Great looking mod

We will be posting a preliminary (and probably temporary) faction list within the next couple of days.

As for the Americas...a geographic makeover of the New World is definitely on our radar screen...there's times I think it just looks as though CA thought it would be cool and threw it in at the last second. Some time and thought will definitely be put toward this at some point when we have the manpower to even conceive of pulling it off in a single human lifetime

Just an idea, you might want to ask the members of those other mods for some cooperation, could make things easier for you.

What kinds of new traits and ancillaries will you include? Are you going to add a personality type scheme ala EB?

B,B, & B (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=102277) will be included, as well as varioius new relics. Also the Crown Jewels of each monarchy will be a new ancillary triggered by the Faction Leader trait. Other faction-specific ancillaries such as the Crown of Charlemagne, the Crown of St. Stephen, and the Stone of Scone will also make an appearance relying on the Faction Leader trait. Any other suggestions, thoughts, or ideas are always welcome in this category, of course.

As requested here is our current faction list along with a small description for each one:

Kingdom of England- In the new map England will be split into several smaller provinces. Also, we are planning to incorporate some really sweet skins.
Rioghachd na h-Alba (Kingdom of Scotland)- The Scots get three starting provinces in our current plan, and will hopefully get some really wild kilted highlanders at some point.
Heiliges Römisches Reich (Holy Roman Empire)- HRE, as always, dominates Central Europe at the beginning of the game. With our planned expansions of the historical family trees to include the brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews of the reigning monarch, Heinrich IV could have some issues with his historically rebellious in-laws.
Serenissima Repubblica di Venezia (The Most Serene Republic of Venice)- Venice, while not a notable land power at this time, has a trading empire in the Adriatic and Mediterranean that is scarcely rivaled in the West.
Kongeriget Danmark (Kingdom of Denmark)- The Danes retain some of their Nordic Viking flair, but also strive to be a civilized and Christian race.
Royaume de la France (Kingdom of France)- The French king has a lot of work to do. He must immediately take moves to consolidate his realm, or risk losing it—and possibly his head…
Reino de León y Castilla (Kingdom of Leon & Castille)- Embroiled in the Reconquista, this Kingdom is perhaps the dominant Christian power on the Iberian Peninsula.
Βασιλεία των Ρωμαίων (Byzantine Empire)- The last vestiges of the old Roman order still hold out in the East. They must cast a wary eye in either direction, or Nova Roma may go the way of its predecessor.
Królestwo Polskie (Kingdom of Poland)- Poland lies on the eastern frontier of Catholic Europe. The newly revamped family trees promise a family management challenge for any who would undertake the pressures of its crown.
Selçuklular (Seljuk Turks)- The Turks hold dominion over most of modern day Iraq, but have their sights set on destinations farther west…
al-Murabitun (Almoravid Emirate)- The Almoravids were what was known in vanilla as simply “Moors”.
al-Fātimiyyūn (Fatimid Caliphate)- The Fatimid Caliphate is, at the start of the game, quite possibly the most economically powerful and well-established Muslim entity on the map.
Kipchaks- These nomadic people are something akin to the Sarmatians of RTR. Rough, reliable, and riding down their enemies at every opportunity.
Reino de Aragón (Kingdom of Aragon)- Little cousin to the larger Leon & Castille, Aragon also must deal with the Muslim threat to their south.
Ducato di Apulia e della Calabria (Duchy of Apulia & Calabria)- Essentially a revamped Sicily, this powerful dukedom was the historical precursor to the Norman Kingdom of Sicily.
Patrimonium Sancti Petri (Patrimony of St. Peter)- The Holy See presides over a large portion of central Italy at the start of the game, and owns two provinces, not just one.
Repubblica di Genova (Republic of Genoa)- Genoa is the furthest north of the famed Maritime Republics in Italy.
Repubblica di Firenze (Republic of Florence)- Florence, future birthplace of the Renaissance, is, at this point in history, simply the capital of a newborn republic, and must struggle to survive.
Repubblica di Pisa (Republic of Pisa)- Long before the tower leaned, the masts of the Pisan fleets swayed in the harbors and on the seas of Italy.
Кыѥвьска Рѹсь (Kievan Rus)- The Rus are a hardy people of the north-central steppes of eastern Europe. They make money from their plentiful trade partnerships, and spend it fighting their plentiful enemies.
Īmūrīyān (Timurids)- The Timurids will remain essentially unchanged from vanilla 1.2, but may get a new skin here or there.
Mongolyn Ezent Güren (Mongols)- see Timurids
Szent István Koronájának Országai (Lands of the Crown of St. Stephen [Kingdom of Hungary])- Hungary will be getting some awesome new skins and shields, as well as new competition: Croatia now lies to the south.
Hrvatska (Kingdom of Croatia)- Historically the fledgling Kingdom of Croatia was subsumed by their larger Hungarian neighbors during the 12th and 13th Centuries. Can you rewrite history?
Kongeriket Norge (Kingdom of Norway)- The Norse have been slow to embrace most influences from the south, and still retain many of the Viking ways and habits—such as hacking their enemies to bits.
Sakartvelo (Kingdom of Georgia)- The ancient and venerable Kingdom of Georgia stands like a gatehouse across the Caucasus mountains, barring passage from north to south or vice versa. With new management coming to power in the south, they may be in for a wild ride ahead.
Aztecatl (Aztecs)- The Aztecs remain essentially unchanged from vanilla.
Haudenosaunee (Iroquois League)- The Iroquois League will form a potent Native American force in North America, especially after that part of the map is corrected geographically.
Brenhiniaeth chan Gwynedd (Kingdom of Gwynedd)- The Kingdom of Gwynedd is the strongest, and therefore the leader, among the tribes and factions of Wales. They have bows as tall or taller than a man, and know how to use them--especially on Englishmen.
Redactum partes (Lesser Factions)- Your garden variety Lesser Factions and rebels, with a much cooler name.

At this point in the operation, we are definitely in need of a skilled scripter, or someone who has some experience who can show myself or one of the other team members how to do this work. PM me for more info! Thanks!!!
