This post is to inform the community of my 'retirement' (I always disliked that term) from modding.

Since my initiation into the Fourth Age Dev Team & TW modding toward the end of 04 I have learned a great deal about modding both in terms of skills and management. I have worked with some wonderful modders, both in and out of the Team. For these enriching experiences, I am grateful.

I have put forward Aradan as my replacement. He is reliable, learns quickly, is dedicated and has a good grasp of what needs to be done. His work on the Complete EDU Guide is testament to that. He has my full support. He, Apoc and Balbor will now direct the Fourth Age Mod down what ever path the adventure may lead...

As for me, I am going to get back to those things which were so unexpectedly interrupted in October three years ago....

A Special Thanks To (in no particular order):

Apocalypsis - for a vision shared and his friendship
Balbor - for his unceasingly fine models and textures
Spraehbuer - for his consistent work
Arakorn - for his continued support for the mod
Tittils - for some fine mapping and campaign coding
Merlin - possibly the greatest TW coding (and coder) I have known
Professor420 - for his strength of leadership
Teleklos - for his example of commitment
Europa Barbarorum - for their support for me & a non-historical mod ;)
Makanyane - for a fine mind and a much-needed peer (subliminal message: everyone vote for her as best coder for the 2007 awards)
Aradan - for setting my mind at ease in knowing the coding and build management is in good hands
Xerex - for all his work on formulae, spreadsheets and balance beyond my skill or capacity
To the Org - my first modding home

And to all those I have forgotten to mention & to all good modders everywhere, and all appreciative players of the Fourth Age!

Wow, isnt it a joke, right?

You were always giving up so modding funny moments(Remember the dictionary). I had some laughs with you.

Well, I wish you luck in your life, and you wont be forgotten that easy.

No joke this time...

My humour left me after mad breaks of jovality in periods of intense modding turned to depression when I realised that no matter how hard I tried noobs just would never understand my installation instructions...

:laugh4:

Seriously...the humour posts will be missed! Though I think Makanyane has immortalized them on the TWC Wiki :)

You're not going anywhere. Perhaps you'll stop modding, but your not leaving, not if I can do anything about it.

Stick around, that's an order.

Stick around, that's an order.
Tries that as well but with less authority, listen to Myrddraal please

Said some of this privately but want to say here.... I can entirely understand the desire (or need) to escape from full time modding - especially after the amount of time and dedication you've given to it.

FATW as a project is hugely successful, its quality and stability is a great credit to your determination and perfectionist tendencies! I'm glad you've found someone to continue the legacy, but please don't disappear completely...

You've always been the person most likely to rescue me when in modding trouble - to the extent that I now have a team leader who's normal response to me screwing up coding is "ask Dol, I'm sure he'll know". (that element might be a bit irritating admittedly!) You've also proved right on more bits of general advice than I'd care to mention, and lightened many moments with your sense of humour, please stick around if only to have an occasional giggle at the rest of us bumbling through things!

I'd wish you luck for whatever you choose to do, but don't think you're someone to need luck to succeed.

best
Mak.

Just now have seen this post. Whatever you are up to in the RTW world or in RL, we all wish you the best of luck with it. EB has benefited greatly from your posts and PM's and we are very glad to have had the opportunity to work with you!
