Don't remember seeing much about this. Do you need supply trains etc for armies? How large a part of gameplay is this?
On a related note, is it possible to raid/plunder a province with an army without actually taking it over, ie just attacking for loot?

Given the scale of the game - region size, length of turn - supply isn't really an issue, and would just have complicated your life without making it any more fun.
No pillaging raids, sorry.

on the pillaing idea, one feature that would be real nice for TW3 would be that all the province buildings etc.. are on the battlemap.
The defender would then not only have to defend against the enemy but ensure it's buildings did not get trashed etc..
Would add a whole new strategic element to real time battles, and cavalry would take on a whole new role.
Would need to have some sort of map for buildings to be placed by provincial owner, kinda like in RTS games where you can only place on a flat plot of land. So you have to choose wisely wether to put your first buildings in safest part of map, or save this space for your better more expensive buildings later on.

Aye - has to be a consideration for TW3: Supply lines, wagons, baggage trains. Placement of buildings on the maps, effective (or not) border forts and defences in some instances.
Perhaps TW3 will move more towards fewer provinces overall but more "depth & Detail" within each province... so that you can actually "campaign" WITHIN a province.

Oh another thing I couldn't quite make out from the previews (you can tell I never played STW more than the demo)...
Does a fort/unit's position within a province make any difference? Or is everything considered to be at the same point?

Depending on the era a very important feature that could be represented would be raw materials having a major impact on strategy. A very obvious example is oil in modern games.
It sounds like the availability of various goods from region to region will lead to trade wars in Medieval.

i'm pretty sure everything is considered to be the same point.
