Wooo.. gamespy, wait. That is the one you have to pay for to get rid of the incredibly annoying ads? The place that held a strange hold over the America's Army game and BF1942's server lists for awhile. Nothing like having to surf through ads for a scrolling chat room and a slowly loading server list.

Now that I've got my whine fest out of the way , woo! Thanks for the info.

Edit: Unless, of course, it is server side in which case that is great. Gamespy server side is multiples better than the Arcade itself.

Dear MizuKraellin,

It is only guaranteed to have 4 player game, 5-8 players game slows it down too much. That's what I read.

I personally prefers lower graphical details but allowing more players and faster (no lag) games.

We have to recommend four players for internet games, or Activision will start getting calls from people trying eightway games with machines that can't take it. Doesn't mean you can't try it with eight though.

I installed Shogun at work yesterday to check something else, and found that it recommends a maximum of four people for internet games too...

Yager: yep, server side only. You can use Arcade if you want (sounds like you don't http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif) but you don't have to.

Just pointing out that the link is not to a review. You'll notice it say /preview in at the top left. I noticed right away from the lack of any real critism. It was all praise.

It means 4v4 is still possible, but when it locks your computer up or crashes it to desktop and you lose 156 hours worth of work on your thesis, dont come crying to Activision.

Exactly. Like I say, it was a mild surprise to see in the Shogun readme that 2v2 was the recommended limit, considering how everyone here only ever talks about playing 4v4 battles. But there you are.
