Well, my wife came to meet me for lunch yesterday, and I learned that she bought Jillian a new shirt.

Well... Surely, you can't be that surprised...?
I mean.... you know what you've been doing....and you knew what that might turn into....

Well, let's just say we were playing Roman Roulette and our number came up. It's not that we weren't 'ready' for this outcome, and we're very happy about it. It's just weren't 'trying', like we were with Jillian. Based on how long it took for Jillian to come along, I was actually very (pleasantly) surprised.

Congratulations to both you and Mrs. Corleone! :balloon2:
Ha, great way to share the news, your wife has. Congrats! Now, you know that part of the Multi-Child Parenthood Pledge is alternating the gender of your children, so that you have to buy entirely new wardrobes. Right?

:laugh4: I think I'd have had a small heart attack if I was in your position, Don. Rather, uh, interesting way of communicating it, your wife did. Congrats!
Oh, I didn't get it at first.
Well, congratulations to you and your wife and may Jillian be a good big sister.:2thumbsup:

Thank you everyone. And Drone, yeah, I got punched in the stomach by my beloved yesterday for saying, in my best Bill Cosby voice "Well, let's make sure the doctor doesn't slap the stem off the apple this time...".
Seriously? I'm really on the fence. A matched set or bookends is just fine by me. Healthy and happy, that's all I'm hoping for. Oh, I forgot the Jillian blessing... and that this one two favors his/her mama. :laugh4:
Jillian says she doesn't care if its a boy or girl either. Just so long as they're quiet and can take orders well.
That's a clever wife you got there, Don. A keeper.
Congrats congrats congrats! I know what you mean about gender -- when your wife is all knocked up, all you can think about is "Healthy, please be healthy, please be healthy ..." I didn't really exhale until I could look at the baby for myself, and confirm that all was okay.
When you think about everything you want for your kid, male and female come way down on the list. (Please be healthy, please be smart, please be attractive, please be strong, please have a sense of humor, please be kind ...oh yeah, I guess I'd like a girl.)

Assuming you'll have another girl, since Jillian is the Big Sister, that would make the newborn a Little Sister ... and you, Don, will have to get used to playing the part of a Big Daddy. ~D
My happiest congratulations, Don. :beam:

Thank you everyone. I hope Louis and others thinking pink are right. Personally, and to be honest, it has me chilled to the bone, and I cannot explain it other than a 'hunch', I'm afraid we've got one of each on the way. Well, afraid in that I'll be facing double the diapers and half the sleep. In truth, I'd be ecstatic, and it might just be wishful thinking, on the subconcious level.
Anyway, thank you everyone for your kind words. Mrs. Corleone's head is swelling faster than her tummy, and she's been reading this thread and beaming. :beam:
The nice thing about another girl would be the ready ability to recycle clothes. We've got one of each, and I'm always suggesting that we put aside boy lemur's old clothes for the little girl lemur. Mrs. Lemur always gives me an evil look, and declares, "I'm only going to get one chance to dress my girl in pink."
I don't see what the problem is, though. Navy sweatpants, for instance. They're dark blue. And they're sweatpants. None of this screams "boy" at me. Why can't we put them aside for the girl again?
But one of each is kinda nice, too.

Lemur I don't think men are supposed to understand this sort of thing. I think we're meant to just grin and bear it. Besides it's not that big of a deal is it? And if it makes her happy then it's worth it.

You're right of course, but I try to be thrifty. When you have kids there's a million folks at a million companies who try to sell you stuff you don't need. I'm not keen on being a consumer.
But yeah, this is a battle I have no hope of winning. Take tank tops. The boy had a bunch of tank tops, and I wasn't allowed to save any of them. Then, when summer began, we bought a few tanks tops for the little girl. One of them is black. How is that particularly girly? Why couldn't I save one of the boy's gray tank tops?
Such things passeth all human understanding. I guess my job is just to pay for stuff and smile.

Don C, little Morgan was born on May 1st, so she's well over a year now. Maxwell is just about to turn four.
