Good for ORG

Well I have loosely worked out that the ORG picks up roughly 5 new members a day. This is no doubt because of MTW coming out soon (and also people finally find the true light) I wonder if this sort of number will double triple or even quadruple when MTW is released??

What are your thoughts...?

Just take a look at how many new moderators we now have... we think it may turn into an avalanche of new posts when the game hits the stores.

I don't think my current system specs will ba able to handle the battles. (Which is okay if I can play the campaign and auto-resolve. Thats what I did with STW on easy to hard to figure out my strategic game http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif.)

Anyhow I should have enough time to cull the posts.

I really culdn't be happier with the turnout we're having. Ever since STW, I was like a preacher spreading the word. Cause let's face it, STW was unlike any RTS on the market (and in my opinion, the best). And now that the TW series is coming out with a title that reaches out to a much larger audience, I'm extatic to see more and more people "convert", so to speak, by the day. There is no better time to be a TW fan!

These forums are much easier on the eyes and much easier to use than the .com ones. I hope this place thrives. I would like to see separate forum sections for Strategies and for Tactics, the Strategies area for us to discuss campaign strategies and learn from each other's experiences in the campaign game, and the Tactics area for us to discuss the real-time tactical battles and strategies used there.

I think it would help keep posts in more relevant areas so we don't have to parse through the massive number of posts in the general MTW forum which I'm sure will be full of posts once the game is out. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

If we could get those two forums that would kick butt! =-)

Hmmm, for the sake of saving space it would probably be wiser to have a "tactics and strategies forum", rather than two separate ones that may individually not attract too many posts...

Cheetah is working and will be working hard on getting the archives to be usefull and up to date, so hopefully, all useful info will be gathered there for everyone to consult.

I delete about 150 to 200 a day by myself from MTW.

lol thats weird cuz everytime I log off i have a certain number of posts. Then i log on again and post my first one of that session and I have an extra 5 - 10 posts. Weird.

And yet I never find these extra posts I make. So I dunno if Pape deletes these phantom posts. Or whether he logs on as me and posts 150-200 posts a day in the MTW forum and then deletes them all afterwards. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/tongue.gif

I hope the number of registered forum goers at ORG doubles. That would be great!

The Medieval Boom was long expected and we are now seeing the first evidence of it.

I just got these numbers for the month of July. They show the total number of times a keyword phrase was searched for, followed by that keyword phrase (numbers represent about 85% of searches done):


5232 medieval total war
4694 shogun total war
915 medieval total war demo
237 total war medieval
78 medieval total war cheat
51 medieval total war download
41 medieval : total war
38 total medieval war
35 shogun: total war medieval
31 medieval total war review
25 medieval total war release date

as for ideas, has anyone looked into gamespy hosting us? i know that's tantamount to blasphemy to some of us, but they do seem to have unlimited size for their web sites and do host a lot of game sites. and, iirc, they use infopop style forums, just newer.
