I'm right handed but I've been working on being ambidextrous.

You voted Gah! on your own poll? :inquisitive:

Ambidextrous by nature, yet when it comes to personal matters I always default to the right hand.

Right handed and proud!

Those damn left-handers.... They come to take our jobs! And corrupt our fine morals!

I can drink beer with either hand. :smug:

They're sinister those lefties I say, sinister :pirate2: (wishes we had a old man with a stick smiley)

Oh wait an open poll...

All information you've ever heard about Ironside being left-handed is lies spread out by the sinister left.
"Moves the mouse with the right hand". See? All the evidence you'll ever need of this matter. Now move along, nothing to see here. :bobby2:

Almost ambidextrous. Writing, only right handed.

Though at football, I am perfectly ambidextrous. I can shoot the ball almost the same, even though the left is better.

I've always been right handed but I learnt to eat the left handed way because my parents didn't even notice I eat dinner the left handed way until I was 14.

I voted Gah! on my own poll because it was true... heh, I don't follow tradition guys.

I've been working on writing with my left hand. Looks like a pre-k kid did it... but it'll come around.

I use my both hands. After over 5 years a go, i broke my right hand badly.(The trias bone where the fingers is attached split in half.) I had to learn to do everything with my left hand and after my right hand healed i have continued using both on most tasks.

I kinda wish that would happen to me... but I don't want it to hurt... lol

I shoot a gun with my left hand, but use most things with my right.

Zain

Yeah, i shoot the bow with my left... it's extremely awkward the other way.

I'm right-handed for the most part, but I do certain things left-handed (driving, opening & closing stuff, etc.).

Zain

When I put on my belt my left hand does all the dexterity... It's always been like that though.

There should have been one more answer possible: ambidextrous by necessity, most tools are designed for righties...

I was born right handed.
Broke my right arm when I was eight. I was seriously into drawing at the time so I started drawing using my left hand. I can still do it.
I can throw rocks using my left hand.
I play hockey with a links hockey stick (blade on the left of your body).
I used to box and can do both styles (links and regular).
I play football using both legs.
I eat using the fork in my left hand (the propper way of eating).
My trigger finger and arrow release fingers are all on my right hand.

Ambidextrous? - nearly but with a preference for writing and picking my nose with the right hand.

Gah, I voted wrong. I pick my nose with my left hand, so it should have been: ambidextruous by discipline.

My dominant superior hand is my right hand, though, indeed, by necessity I utilize my left inferior one naturally for certain tasks, for many small simple tasks too actually as I hardly even notice it. You could say I tend to the right, but am also somewhere near the center (but don't confuse this with politics of course :P).

I had been cogitating utilizing my left hand more for the more specific tasks such as writing. I attempted it in the past but was too impatient. If I had continued it today I might have been more ambidextrous than I am currently. I will have to pick this up again.

And when I have sufficiently learnt using my left hand for it, I will attempt to put my awesome fantastic brainpower and coordination to use by training to use both hands simultaneously to write: the right hand from right to left and the left hand from left to right, as they both make a phrase :laugh4:

I was born naturally left handed, but acquired the use of my right sometime in School. Not exactly sure how, it just kind of happened.

I do everything with my right hand. Except for eating, soemtimes I eat the left way the other time the rightway and sometimes I even swap between them during eating. Dunno why.

My parents told me i was left handed but started using my right hand when i was shouted at by my uncle for eating with my left hand. :furious3: It was when i was 4 years old. My left hand is visibly very weak compared to my right. :shame:

It is possible that some people, no matter which their superior hand is, use their inferior one out of habit. In my case, even when being right-handed, I always operate a phone with my left hand. A remote control too, though sometimes with right. Holding a book while reading it either right-style or left-style. When being in some location where a computer is set up for someone left-handed I just use my left hand for the mouse (though I have never tried playing games like it).

I always found it silly when people'd see me using my left hand for they'd always ask (or generally converse) if I'm left-handed. Whereas if they'd see me using my right hand they'd never ask anything about it.

By the way, was there no time and place when left-handed people were looked upon as evil beings by society? :P

Yes that was true, and if you were to be in the army you had to wield your weapon with your right now and shield in the other.

Sad times... :shame:

Can catch with my left hand (baseball glove is on your left hand). Can't throw with any power though.

Can bat lefty ok, still with less power. Can't dip my shoulder or move my body into it. Would take practice.

Drive with either hand.

Everything else is righty only though.

I write left-handed. Everything else can be done with either hand so I suppose I am ambidextrous. However, in terms of sports, I learned to do everything right-handed. Batting, throwing, golf, whatever.

The Stranger

same for me... i write left, though i can write with right pretty good as well... for sports i learned most things righthanded though with baseball i can hit with both hands, i dont have a particular hand for holding a spoon but i strike a footballwith right... so ambidextrous i think, like craterus :P

Yeah, i shoot the bow with my left... it's extremely awkward the other way.

Righthanders tend to shoot the bow with the left.

The dominance of the eye is generally determined first. Lefties were forced to write right, and thus the eye-test is more solid.

The dominant eye is closest to the arrows nock and is used to aim (either string/sight system or using the whole lenght of the arrow). When the right eye is dominant, the right hand needs to be on the string and the left is used to push the bow away. Left handed people having a dominant right eye need to shoot that way too.

There are exceptions for everything though.

RE/RH, but the left arm is a lot stronger. Right is used for coordination while left does the heavy job.

Zain
09-10-2007, 13:07
Same here man, same here. Mainly cuz when I was younger I was uneven, in which my right arm was way stronger, but now my left is, mainly by choice.

Man I love a good ol' oxymoron.

Righty here, neither particularly proud nor ashamed. My left is a little more agile when it comes to combing my hair, for what it's worth.

I am left-handed, eating, writing, batting, throwing, and catching with my left hand. I blade left-handed, predominantly. Oddly, I shoot (pistols, rifles triggered, bows drawn) with my right hand.

My right hand dexterity is developed from years of piano and keyboard study. It is far more able than my left when playing, which granted, isn't unusual.

Do I have two hands?

Zain

Haha, and you say you don't spam...

Yes, two hands, and one is usually dominant.

Help?

And I prefer doing certain things with my left hand ... like making an Archaeological profile (if that even minorly explains it)
