Cardiff prison where inmates locked in their cells have taunted a picket line in the car park with shouts of "You're breaking the law"

:laugh4:

When it's been added to your job discription that you can expect to be assaulted, I can't say I blame them. There was one on the radio this morning saying that the prisoners human rights come before the POs. Sounds about right under noolabor.

Nice to see our local socialists getting to grips with industrial action though. :laugh4: Utter hypocrites.

IMO prisoners should have to show respect to the warders, and should loose benefits if they don't do so. Jeering for example wold result in immediate punishment.

For violent crimes I'd go as far as to say the prisoners have no rights by default, and onlt get those the state chooses to give them based on their behaviour - act like animals and get treated like one.

If prisoners lash out so often in prison, what are they going to do when released? Become modern subjects? :laugh4:

The pay rise is derisory, given that it's below inflation (rather like the nurses, teachers and helthcare workers then...). I doubt MPs are being as strict on themselves.

Won't make too much difference, except convicts will be free a little bit slower...:beam:

Our guards seem to be on strike about half the time. Too few of them, and not enough applicants, and too much work with all the 'social' programmes for inmates.
