i recently alt-tabbed out of my britannia campaign as the scots. when i went back to the game, something weird had happened to the world map: none of the settlement information is displayed (you know, the little rectangle that says the name of the settlement, it's income, etc.) unless i mouse over it, and even then it only shows information for the one settlement, not all of them. also, all the character names (generals, merchants, captains, spies, etc.) show all the time.

i can't figure out how to change this using the options menu in the game, and it makes it harder to play and enjoy. should i change something in a directory or something?

Have you tried saving the game and reloading? That worked for me when I alt-tabbed and the minimap was all off.

i'll give it a shot, i suppose. as an update, the problem persists even in other kingdoms campaigns - i loaded up a teutonic one just to test, and it's the same.

tried reloading; no dice.

Oh I know what.

Try Ctrl+T

It toggles town/castle names.

Have you tried pressing Ctrl-T and Ctrl-N (shortcuts for toggle display of settlements and characters names)?

i'm about to try it. thanks in advance.

if this is in fact the solution, i'll feel like a right royal fool. where is this command documented?

You could find it in the ingame help (F1 key)

No need to. It's better that your problem is caused by such a banal thing, than something really serious. I'm glad everything works... :2thumbsup:
