So I was playing France and I had this general who was the Constable of France-- but I wanted to make another general Constable of France, to give him a super high command rating, but I had to get the title away from the first general. I know I could just send an emissary and say "bonjour, you are no longer Constable of France, have a nice day" but that lacks style. So I sent a spy to find out the general's secrets. Bingo! An Atheist! Now I just send my Inquisitor to unmask the fiend and tsk tsk-- such a tragedy.

But non! I put the Inquisitor on the general and it gives me a ZERO chance of success. What!?! He's an ATHEIST for God's sake! That should get him a date with a barbecue, shouldn't it? Anyway, I'm bummed. So I sent him off on a Crusade (insert evil laughter here). They check in, but they don't check out.

yeah there are some idiosyncracies between Piety levels and Vices.. the other thing is that rank plays into how hard it is to succesfully "Inquiste" a target.

The higher the rank the more difficult it is.

Remember that a "failed inquisition" will RAISE the piety on the target - therefore you can deliberately FAIL on inqisiting your targets to deliberately raise their piety. (ie use low rank inquisitors on high rnak generals with low piety).

This (can) make them Inquisitor-proof against the enemy high rnak inquisitors.
