I love the Kingdoms add-on, but am annoyed by the comments of the battle advisor.
He tells me I am outnumbered; He tells me when I've lost a good portion of my men; etc, etc.

If I were a medieval lord, I would probably assign him to the rack to show him my appreciation for his comments.

Any one else annoyed by this?

put yourself in "only important messages" and check "never show this again" for new ones or go for "no advice" mode. :juggle2:

"My lord, our men have taken control of the city!"
"My lord, our men have lost control of the city!"
"My lord, our men have taken control of the city!"
"My lord, our men have lost control of the city!"

when playing Aztec/Turkish/Mongol/Moorish - did they said "We are Tartar!" or "We are attacked"?.

Portugese and Spanish fraction accents aren't too bad. But no more of the french words (Tres Bian!)

I HATE this one "We are under attack! WE NEED TO ACT!" I wouldnt hate it as much if it didn't say it during Skirmishing before I send my troops in.

Well, I am slightly annoyed that you didn't bother to add the Kingdoms prefix...

They should make Madden do the commentary.

I completely agree with the OP. One of the main discouragements I had with the 1.2 patch was the implementation of this useless chatter into the game, where before it was off if you didn't use the advisor.

One of my biggest disappointments with 1.3/Kingdoms is that they didn't remove the chatter.

CA, if you are reading this, please tell us how to shut that man up.

I play the game with Speech turned off COMPLETELY. That removes all speech in the game including the diplomacy, the unit acknowledgements, and the battle chatter. Personally I like it better this way, it's more like the original Medieval where everything was silent and there were no annoying speeches. :)

I only really ever listen to speeches when the general is stark raving mad.

I like the speeches , though I think the ones from Rome were much better.

They should make Madden do the commentary.

"Our troops are going to have to get out there and fight if we're gonna win this battle"?

I've heard the advisor tell me that the battle was going well during deployment before. I'm glad he's enthusiastic 0_o

His enthusiasm is turned to despair if you are outnumbered.

It would not matter if you have a small but elite group of troups who are attacked by a huge army of peasents.

He says unless to the effect of unless something changes we will lose this battle.

Eh what about turning down the volume?

Yes but the commentary is tied to the main sound. I could turn the sound completely off . It is an annoyance, not a game killer.

The battle advisor is really annoying, but it just try to set him as off as a default.. I hope they didn't change things in Kingdoms (haven't got it yet, but thats only because i havne't finished with M2TW - i need to play as the turks, and egyptians/almohads.

I will admit I kind of like the "the enemy has lost half his men" or "you have lost half your men" warnings, but other than that, it is kind of annoying after a while.

I'm still annoyed that my Irish commentator has a scottish accent. I'd also be annoyed that my calivermen wear kilts, but they're just too damn good.

I thought he had a scottish accent ,but being an american, I just thought it was my untuned ear.

Ditto
That is exactly what happened with me. I KNOW when half of my force is gone, I KNOW when I am killing lots of enemies etc etc.

In the end, if I were a lord at that time, I would probably have that commentator's head on a pike.
