A guy I know went round the local beach "converting" people to Jedi. Very funny, people were very confused indeed.

Shucks. Here I was thinking His Noodly Majesty was making headway and Master Henderson's word was spreading more than any other creed. Just when we have established undeniable proof that global warming is caused by the worldwide decline in piracy since the early 1800's, Jediism takes the lead...

I would have thought Time Lord would be more popular than Jedi in the Anglosphere. I guess the new Doctor Who is still making its comeback, then.

It seems like an awfully long time since I filled out a census form. Slap me on the head and call me Sylvia, but when is the next one? 2010?

The Jedi as a religion is sort of dualist-buddhist. They believe in the good/light and evil/dark aspects of the force. Which has a will but not nessisarily intelligence.

Time Lord is more like Gallifrian peerage than a religious affiliation.

The Jedi are given as being organized like the Templars or Hospitallers. So Yoda would be the Grand Master of the order. Then you have Master (as rank), Knight, Padawan, and Initiate/Youngling/Hopeful (some what unofficial you see).
