some say yes, others say no... so i decided to buy the game, but before i did i checked the requirements and the requirements said under minimal pc requirements, internet requirements: internet explorer 6 or higher, internet connection...

:furious3: :dizzy2: so what is it? i would really like to have a clear answer.

Absolutely. Not sure how this rumor that you need an internet connection has gotten any steam..

That's if you wanna play on multiplayer.

Because of the Securom and Bioshock and some people that can't understand that the whole "register via internet" thingy was purely bioshock and not something you see in other securom products.

But then again, you can't run M2TW through the launcher without an internet connection. :furious3:
Makes me wonder what it's doing. :inquisitive:

EDIT: Why is the Citadel flooded with Kingdoms threads when there is a perfectly good Kingdoms forum available?

That's also not ture. I ran M2TW with that annoying launcher (had to pretty quick on that run locally button) without a net connection from the time 1.2 dropped till I installed Kingdoms.

What launcher?:book:

I put CD in, then click on medieval2.exe.

Or if I play Kingdoms I just click on the icons.

Yes you can. Just the polls don't work... and neither does the news section.

It's the news and polls that require the launcher to have internet.
But the launcher doesn't start when you try to play a kingdom campaign.

No, but you can start the Kingdoms campaigns through the launcher...

I think it is very annoying BTW that you need the original disc for M2TW and the other disc for Kingdoms... but this is completely OT...

When I relocated my PC, the launcher would screw the game up until I reconnected the internet connection. Then it worked fine again, seems like it was affecting it wouldn't you say?
The only way I could play was to bypass the launcher.

I never trust those launchers apart from the installation anyway, always close them (or don't open them in the first place) and use some shortcut on the PC.

thanks

i needed to know becuase when i buy the game and it doesnt work i can return the game but i wont get my money back, i can only trade it for games worth the price of which i bought the first game and since kingdoms is solely on my list it wouldve been a waste...
