I conquered it recently to throw the remaining Seleukids out but ceased it immidiately to Saba, because I always try to make my Empire look beautiful on the minimap. Yes I am an aesthete on the throne.:laugh4:

Btw, what you say happened to me in Armavir and Kabalaka. First conquer, exterminate and the population will be reduced to about 2000; second conquer, exterminate and it will be lowered to about 400; but the third conquer, don't exterminate but slave them, a newly extermination won't serve you for anything anymore, but the people will like you more if only slaved. It's true, also in RTW, not only in reallife.

But sometimes you additionally need a good governor. Some guys are so hated amongst the populace that it's a safe bet that they will be thrown out again the next turn... Search for someone with the "extremely happy people" trait and leave him there for the next 20 years.

Arabia is gone in the next build. Yea!
Something I've wanted since I was a fan of v0.74.

Soon, you won't have to worry about holding it, or worry about the AI using it as a stepping stone to march through the deserts.

That's fantastic news.

I was just going to respond that Arabia should be an unconquerable area, ownable by no-one, and unpassable if possible.

Glad to see this implemented finally.

So until the next version i must forget Arabia ...... But a full stack army was kicked out by 400 people its a little weird...

It's a pretty pointless bug of RTW, in which even 400 people can kick out a full stack.

Maybe we can bring back the old bug from .74 were if u left a city rebelling city without any troops it would not rebel.:dizzy2:

OR not. :shame:

Actually, that same bug exsists in RTW v1.5. It was just changed a bit. Now, instead of having a city that can't rebel and just sits there, you have a city that does rebel and causes a crash. That bug and the 'Rebelling City CTD' are one in the same.

Didn't you guys say you've fixed it for the next release by creating a "Peasant"-type unit for every faction?

I always hated peasants, mostly because the ai seemed to have some perverted fascination with watching their untrained mobs of peasants being slaughtered countless times. And even despite having the ability to train elite units, they still trained peasants...
:shame:
Well, if peasants are being brought back in, I hope they'll be used in a "controlled manner" by the ai... aka, garrison duty only.

Well, there will be a 'peasant' unit in the next build. However, it will only be recruitable by the 'rebel' faction. It will however pop up for every faction in rebellions. A nice little trick we've played on the game engine.
