When the dust settles and all armies lie vanquished before the horde...

...the masses will know my name...

Seriously, though, just completed my first full campaign as the English. Great amount of fun but saw little use of the Navy. Mainly used it for troop transport.

I am going to start again tonight on hard and use an economy build out technique with trade emphasis.

For now I am just battling and rolling over troops....

Did you conquer the map or go the Glorious Achievements route? How many turns did it take? Did you play on normal?

As the Spanish, I've had plenty of naval battles with the French and Sicilians.

May they rest in peace.

I must say I was sorry for it to end but towards the end I started to autoresolve and fight only the key battles.

I dropped troops from the northern Isles along the western seabaord, kept France and Italy as my allies and fought the rest.

I suffered a knife to the back by France late in the game but quickly surrounded the damn cur and put it out of its misery.

Had some trouble with the southern factions late in the game. I managed to sweep through them with good support from my provinces in the rear.

OK...It was on easy (gulp!) but nonetheless good exposure for the upcoming campaign on hard.

Im gonna try and fight all my battles in MTW, in STW i went through entire campaigns without fighting a single battle myself and i still loved it, i cant imagine how great it'll be to play MTW and fight all the battles http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

GAH!

Normal for now to learn the feel for the game. Its my 2nd attempt as the Spanish (first I went backrupt before I could do anything... ROFLMAO). Still have not completed it. Its a few years shy of 1200, and the Empire stretches from Sweden to Cyrenaica. The only curs left are the Egyptians, Poles, Russians and Hungarians. I'm allied with all 'cept the Poles, who are neutral. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/eek.gif I chose to go total domination route, so no GA's this time around.

Well as I haven't got the game yet I do not know it fo sure. But I think GA on expert would be fun, and more historical accurate? Can anyone confirm this?

True, since no nation went on a mad rampage and created an empire stretching from the Steppes to Spain, but you dont get Total WAr unless you play domination http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

The only glorious accomplishment is looking out across your kingdom and seeing not a stray enemy faction anywhere.

The curs have been driven from the lands, their woman are our own and their gold lines our coffers.

It is good to be the King...
