Ok I finally got the game, but I noticed there isn't any documentation on the CD anymore.

From what I remember Shogun came with a really nice PDF tech tree and the manual was on there in PDF too I believe.

Did I just miss it or something, or are they really not there. Also, if they arent there, is anyone going to do a really nice high quality scan of the tech tree so we can have it as a jpg?

kalt,
yup. no pdf's on the cd. and scanning that giant fold-out poster sized tech tree is more than my simple equipment could handle, unless i wanted to cut the thing into pieces and feed it into my scanner that way...not quite ready to do that :)

there are two files in .htm format that shld be in your main directory of the game. one is 'index.htm' and the other is 'readme.htm'. that's pretty much all the computer resident documentation that came with the game. i suspect someone will be putting things up on their web sites before too long, though. maybe .com will do a tech tree online. dunno. havent really found a need for it, myself. the game, especially for the vets of stw/we/mi, is pretty familiar and intuitive and when i've had any questions or problems, the printed manual and fold-out tech tree have been pretty good. add in these forums, with all the helpful folks around, and the CA guys answering questions, i dunno.

i'd much rather have a printed manual and printed tech tree i can refer to while the game is playing, without having to alt-tab out of the game. still, i suppose it might be nice to have some of this stuff on one's own web site and one could always take a picture of the fold-out and load it into the computer...yeah, that might work. it'd take a good resolution camera to do it, as you're going to lose detail in photographing such a large poster, but it could be done.

It is especially good if you use a 2-monitor setup, you can refrence whatever you need on monitor #2 while you play on monitor #1 without having to wrestle with a fold-out or flip thru a book.

It is also nice if you play on your laptop at school, because opening up a fold-out probably isnt the most convienent thing to do there.

Anyways I hope we get some online documentation like for last game, it is very easy for the publisher to do and while it might not be used by all I'm sure it would be quite convienent for some.

If anyone could get a nice jpg of the tech tree that would be convienent.
