Ramses II CP

Seeing the hands of good Catholic men turned against one another in anger causes good King Wladyslaw of Poland great sadness, and so he wishes to republish the requirements for membership and expand upon the aims and intents of the League with the hopes of bringing an end to this terrible violence. To join the League a nation must:
1. Forswear aggressive military action against fellow Catholic nations. Lands that stand in rebellion, or under the sway of other beliefs are fair game.
2. Not be excommunicated or allied to an excommunicated nation.
3. Battle heresy everywhere it can be found.
4. Answer all calls to Crusade.
5. Aid one another against attacks by foreign faiths.
While Christian soldiers slaughter one another here in Europe, Muslims laugh as they stroll the very streets where Jesus lived. Surely God must frown on our faithlessness to tolerate infidels in control of the Holy Lands. With this knowledge certain in his heart, King Wladyslaw wishes to propose a series of steps that will set the League on the path to reclamation.
1. Prevail upon the Pope, at every opportunity, to call a crusade for Jerusalem. Members of the League wish to assure every nation that contributes forces to the Crusade that they shall have the aid of the other nations in securing lands for those armies, even if Jerusalem should fall before the noble Crusaders reach the walls. Following the commissioning of the crusade, league nations will meet regularly to discuss coordinating actions. On this point perhaps Sicily could take the lead, with their geographical advantage in access to the Papacy.
2. A cadre of priests with representatives from all member nations should be gathered and sent into Muslim lands to spread the word of God together. As Catholic priests are surely welcome to travel through Orthodox lands I propose Constantinople as a gathering point. Non-members are welcome to travel with the band, but will not be privy to planned movements in advance or have the defense of, ahem, other Catholic agents that may move with the group.
3. The wealth of the Muslims being one of their foul strengths, Catholic merchants should enjoy immunity from having their business taken over by other Catholics when trading in Muslim lands. Deny them their resources and we deny them the means to fund armies and defend their lands. Similarly ships that can be spared should blockade Muslim held ports at every opportunity, and group together for mutual defense against Islamic attacks.
In the year of our Lord 1100 AD the first Conclave of Catholic League Nations will be called, and all members will have the power to propose new goals, crusade targets, and directions and methods to influence the Pope. King Wladislaw wishes to make it abundantly clear that while Poland is the force behind the formation of the League this confers no special status. Our people shall be one among many, not even first of equals, but merely a member in good standing.
The Sicilians and Danes have expressed a desire to join the League so far, and diplomats have been dispatched to draw up the paperwork despite troubling rumors of war out of Arhus. It is much to be hoped that others will come to the call and oppose the infidels.
(Deliberately toned down the anti-Orthodox rhetoric. Figured it wouldn't make sense to go after them with Crusades on the horizon and the Holy Land unreclaimed)
