View Full Version : Marian reforms too late?

Hi , there's no doubt in my mind that EB is the best mod out there and
I've thouroughly enjoyed my campaign as Romani (currently 168bc.) However ,
I'm starting to realise that I'm not going to need the Marian reforms in order
to complete the objectives required. Which is a shame as I was looking forward to them (and am still waiting for a required character to be made consul.)
I was just wondering wether other people thought that the Marian reforms
come to late in the game to make any real difference? And if somehow the
best reforms should be made accessible earlier to give you time to enjoy them?!

Cheers,

Optio Figulus.

this topic has been talked to death. Check the unofficial modding projects forum and find a thread that will detail how to change when they can appear.

It probably will come too late if you just steamroll everyone and finish it in a 100 years or so.

I personally plod my way through my games, so there'll be plenty of time for me to enjoy the Marian Reforms, if I ever get the required traits!

Those are your options but EB has spent a great deal of time tuning the reforms and they are exactly the way we intend them to be.

I think EB has a good setup except for the fact that reforms actually don't take complete effect for the AI until 20-30 turns after they take place. This is because you have to upgrade the barracks in order get the new units. For this reason I edited my descr_script file so the reforms take place earlier. It's not hard to do yourself.
