invalid CD key

Hi -

Am trying to get into MP for first time after an absence of many years (i'm after some Samurai Warlords games). Anyway, i'm having ye age olde problem of getting the 'invalid cd key' message. I'm putting in the original MTW cd key on my manual. I've tried doing it in capitals, and in lower case, i've tried doing different things with dashes, I've tried doing it with my back turned to it, whilst sacrificing a chicken, but still to no avail.

Any ideas on how to get the bloody thing to accept it?

I may yet just eat my MTW cd.

To play Samurai Warlords games you will need a fresh clean install of MTW/VI/patchv2.01
The CD Key you need to install is the one for VI
All letters are Capitals and any '0' is a zero and put in the '-'s

Hm you say original MTW key. You need VI key if you have installed VI.

Thanks guys, i'm now in the forum, much to my amazement (no one else is, but hey, that doesn't matter).

I was foxed by the Viking Invasion manual which states, and I quote

"type in the CD key code that can be found with your original Medieval: Total War packaging"

Sundays at 19:00 gmt is when we play for about 4 hours or 5 hours.
