View Full Version : Maneuvering?
In the field how do you maneuver your troops to stay in perfect formation? Because my soldiers always end up looking really disorganized by the time I reach the enemy.
I think you need to group the units you want to keep in formation.
Select the group and use ALT-right-click on the destination point - they should arrive there still in formation.
Use spacebar to see how they will be positioned when they get there.
You can use the '<' and '>' keys to rotate the destination formation left or right (keeping spacebar pressed).

Having played countless 3v3 multi-player battles, I know how important staying aligned and in formation is. As Juvenal said, grouping is important. I prefer grouping my entire army if I can, but many of my clanmates prefer grouping infantry and cavalry separate. Also, remember to "click and drag", as just clicking will make a mess.

Group ur entire army if you can. Or group ur center in one group and ur two flanks into two groups. OR group ur army in one group ur missiles in another and ur cavarly in another.
Here is how:
Select the units then form a group. After that, immideatly ungroup them, and group them again. After that they will mantain formation.
Is there a way to make your units move to attack? That is, move to a position and actively engage the first unit they run into? I think there is, but I can't remember.

Units generally cancel all actions and start fighting with an enemy unit if they touch an enemy unit.
shift-right click
Yes - sorry, that's right, not ALT-right-click (which is used to force switch to secondary weapons after charge :wall: ).
Shift-right-click maintains facing and formation - that is why you may want to use '<' and '>' to rotate the destination formation (which you can only see when pressing space-bar).
