WASHINGTON (CNN) — The Rev. Jesse Jackson sharply criticized Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama Tuesday over his reaction to the arrest of six black juveniles in Jena, Louisiana on murder charges, accusing the Illinois senator of "acting like he's white," according to a South Carolina newspaper.

The comments reportedly came during a speech at Columbia’s historically black Benedict College.

The State newspaper reports Jackson later said he did not recall saying Obama is "acting like he's white," but continued to condemn the Illinois Democrat as well as the other presidential candidates for not bringing more attention to this issue.

Ah, race baiters. I guess that for Jackson, all black people have to act alike, and all white people act alike.

I thought stereotyping with regards to race was a bad thing.

Jesse's just jealous that Obama is going to have more delegates at the convention than he ever got. ~D

You guys are all missing what this is really about. Who has been Jesse's political patron for the past 15 years? Bill who? Who's married to whom? What's one demographic she trails significantly in? This is the Clinton camp's answer to Oprah's sponorship of Obama. Jesse just had his debt called in.

Wasn't Obama's mother white? Didn't he grow up in a white area with his white mother?

Maybe he prefers the nice cushy lifestyle of the white man? As opposed to the general lifestyle of most African Americans, which is hardly the most desirable kind of lifestyle.

And who can blame him for being succesful?

Or should black politicians always live in the ghetto to be Black enough? That's what Jackson implies.

Heck, more than implying all black politicians should live in the ghetto, he's implying the black population should have no diversity. No richer, no poorer, no more educated, no less educated, no more liberal, no more conservative . . . just one monolithic sameness that is 'blackness.'

I figure he just needed a suitable slogan. There's a sort of nationalist whiff to it, which obviously gets pretty complex pretty fast if you start thinking about it... which is probably why it's handed out as a populist denounciation of an unclear "us and them" form.

Sigh, someone explain him that ganging up with six on one is a bad thing to do, pittytude galore, as always. Where was he with the christian couple that were mutually respected quite viciously.
