View Full Version : Eternal Winter

So having just installed a fresh copy of RTW & EB (which I've never played before, and am very much enjoying, so far, bar the present issue), i noticed after a few turns that the entirety of the campaign map (down to the Sahara!) had gone snowy. It has since remained that way for at least 5 turns. Character trait cards indicate that the seasons are changing, but the map doesn't.
Is this a known issue? Is there a simple fix?
Thanks.

I advice you to talk to Aslan, he might have a solution...or just skip right ahead and kill the witch, that should put things back to normal.

Video card problem I think. I used to have it too - maybe deleting map.rwm and restarting might help, but I'm not sure.

I haven't tried a restart yet (indeed, I haven't really tried anything, to fix: I just thought I'd check to see if it was a known issue before I started fiddling). I've deleted MAP.rwm, and am going to restart- I'll post a screenshot if it recurs.
One possibly salient fact is that I'm running EB using the BI .exe, thanks to an installer available around here somewhere, whose creator's name I unfortunately can't remember.
Installer? Don't you just append -BI to the target line?
Not sure about that error, the only I've seen is when I should have built more arks, because all of North Africa along those coastal provinces flooded, and the southern half of Iberia was sunk, with only mountains sticking up.

Wow, I'm quite happy that this never happened to me but I'd really like to see it. You guys have some screens?

Not the one I remember, but I guess it's happened more than once.
