This is Boxleitner.

U.S. citizen trying to get my favorite old games. I´ve been buying alot of classics recently and just got Shogun: Total War by other means.

My friend says it´s in French and I want to know if I can install in English. This one is the new Shogun Warlord Edition I haven´t tried.

I´m looking forward to reading a solution! Lol. If this "French" version is the European version, then what do i do to get it all in English please?

Hi and welcome Boxleitner,
Sorry, but I don't think that alternative language files are stored upon the disk - the game can only be used in the language it was bought in. Unfortunately, as you may expect, the only solution is to purchase an English version of the game or to somehow exchange the French version at the place of purchase.
Sorry about the inconvenience, cheers!

BTW, just been proved wrong - just follow the instructions in this post (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?p=1685587#post1685587).

When I said by other means I meant that a friend gave me a copy.

With a name like Boxleitner I don´t expect anyone to believe I´m capable of computer hacking and piracy, heh.

Hello Boxleitner,

I recall that there was just one version for European languages.

You should be provided a list of languages when installing, so that's where you make the choice.

The short answer is yes, just select english during install.

Hope this helps?

Box,

I bought my Rome Total War in Italian, but when I installed the English (European) patch, the game turned to English language.

Try to install an English (not american) patch, and it might work.
