Hello everyone.

I have been playing Rome: Total War since it came out in 2004 but I wasn't really an avid gamer until the summer of 2008 meaning I only noticed Medieval II: Total War and the coming release of Empire: Total War at that time.

I caught up on my playing time on M2TW and then when ETW came and disappointed I left the series a while. However, one of my friends told me there was a scene online for the Total War series and after a little looking around I found this site to look the best so I decided to join.

I have them all bookmarked. Sometimes when I need to use a particular smiley, such as THIS one from CFC:

(One of my favorites) I hover my cursor over it, and I hit "copy image location" and then I throw tags around it, and I can use it anywhere.

I also like the Jedi one from Total War Center.

Only bad thing is that on Civilization Fanatics, the smileys get cut off/shrunken when you borrow them from other places. Not only that, CFC sometimes cuts off it's own smiley faces... the regular smileys look like they are missing a side of their face. Major road rash, perhaps?


EDIT: I am learned-ing....

Apparently I can make things on the screen appear larger or smaller by pressing the CTRL key and using my mouse scroll button. That's why those smileys weren't appearing correctly.

Might I be so forward as to refer to you as ACIN, for brevity's sake? If I may be so bold, I would like to cordially invite you and any other new members to Yaseikhaan's Netherworld II (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=124738) mafia game hosted down in our gameroom. If you'd like, I can explain how mafia games work. Firstly, you vote for someone based on scientific proof that they are guilty, such as having a long name, or an avatar that is more awesome than yours, or perhaps you checked with the random.org gods, and (after sacrificing a goat and three chickens) you receive a sign which suggests that someone is guilty, or you can simply go with a "traditional" vote, which is either a sign of respect or unhealthy obsession. Then, after you lynch your first mafia based on the exact science that is reading chicken's blood, you lynch the detective (or pro-town God role) that reveals, purely by accident or because you know they always lie, in which case you will be baffled when it is revealed they were telling the truth. After that, what you do is lynch some inactive players, until you get randomly pwned by a mafia or serial killer. Then you watch helplessly as the remaining townies lynch each other while the mafia laughs, and when the game is over you say I TOLD YOU SO.

And everyone gets to have cake at the end.*

I'm not exactly new but I havent been back to this forum in a very long time. I joined the board way back when Shogun was first released(or was it when the Warlord edition was released??). I havent played a total war game since the First Medival Total War Viking Invasion but as many of you may already know, Steam is having one hell of a sale so I picked up Medival Total War 2. I look forward to reading these forums again(especially the Action Reports) and getting a feel for the game again.

First of all, is there a story behind the name "Methos"?

I used to watch the TV series Highlander in the 90's when I was stationed in the state of Washington. My favorite character was, as expected, the immortal Methos. Who btw was one of the original four horsemen. I've always liked the name and I ended up making a DnD 3rd edition elf wizard named Methos that became a very interesting character and an excellent campaign. It was around the time that this campaign either ended, or close to ending that I came across CFC and when asked for a username, I put in Methos. I never expected to end up becoming CFC HOF Staff and a moderator. Now the name "Methos" has become my typical name in most forums I belong too. Makes a person think, choose wisely when picking a username, as you never know if you may end up using it for many years to follow.

Once you become normal member you can do normal stuff, so just carry on posting and you will be promoted, if not you could just ask an org moderator to promote you, pronto (in a nice way naturally)

I've played all the TWs except Viking Invasion, Alexander, and now Napoleon.

My favorite settings are Barbarian Invasion and Rome, but I like the MII Kingdoms engine.

I've never really played any mods except MII Retrofit and Faction Unlock mods.

I've been gaming all my life, but have no skill at it. Never been able to successfully complete a game of Rome, though I've had some success in most of the others.

I like Wheel of Time, hockey, history and plan to spend a lot of time playing Bad Company 2.

I found out it was the "button" problem and the solution I found here in the faqs section. Thank you so much.

My real name is Mark and I now play Medieval Total War with the Viking Invasion. I love this game. It is so cool. I am able to handle the game in the easy level and will soon move up to the next level.

It could have something to do with your Junior member status which doesn't allow you to post in the Monastery. Allthough you registered in 2008, you only made 6 posts, so you probably slipped through the mazes. I'll ask Tosa to promote you to member status. In the meanwhile, you can always open the thread here. Once you're member, you can then ask Kukri to move it over to the Monastery where you can continue.
