View Full Version : Just a couple of ideas...

Note: as we don't get MTW for another two days in the UK ;o( I'm still on the demo - but I had a couple of ideas that may or may not already be in the full game:

- 'hospital' carts - these could come on during the fights and take away dead or wounded soldiers
- Further to this, your wounded could come back to fight again in later battles after they have been miraculously 'healed'
- I also noticed that troops don't appear to become less tired when you leave them standing for a while - again probably something thats fixed.
- Finally how about a special type of reinforcement that brings more ammunition in to archers & siege engines?

Meanwhile I can't wait to get my hands on the game, but unfortunately I'm really busy at work for the next month and have basically no time at all... I guess I could always just quit...?

i wouldnt want to waste cpu/vid card cycles on hospital carts. too much for too little gain. your wounded are already accounted for and do come back fully rested and healed. you just dont see this happen in any sort of visual display.

troops do recover some fatigue when resting. it's not an instant thing though. you have to let them sit there for a bit.

as for ammunition, yeah, that one urks me a bit. i'd like my guys re-supplied also. maybe a 'scrounge' function where they could pick up spent arrows or something, though not sure in the fast paced battle mode you'd really have time for this. maybe an ammo cart? i dunno, but i do know i've often wished for a way to re-supply in battle mode.

GAH!

Simple! Get CA to put a Walmart in the desert oasis. You can just walk in and get many arrows and weapons. And because they 'slash prices', it won't cost you a fortune to resupply!

And, it would be nice to get some of them portable air conditioners too for fighting in the desert heat. My armor-clad lads seem to come back extra cripsy after campaigns down south...

Fair call K. I guess the vid card should be reserved for more battle driven elements...

I guess the hospital cart idea could extend to collecting bodies of foes for ammunition in artillery (I remember reading a thread some time back that suggested this may be available during sieges) But again I guess we don't actually need to see it happening.

As for the "scrounge" idea - that's a wicked one - providing the arrow is still intact why shouldn't an archer use it again? It could be simulated by taking twice as long to reload when you run out...? (Providing of course the archers have been targeted by enemy fire in the first place) I can't imagine the system keeps track of all the arrows shot...
