I have noticed that Camels get a penalty in Lush and Temperate (says so on the unit), while I think I saw Kats. got a 'Tire faster in desert'.
I also think I saw Desert Archers has a bonus while in desert.

But I would like other people to add something.

My Knights of Santiago became exhausted without moving in Tripoli. This was rock desert terrain. I hire eastern cav when possible for campaigning in the Holy Land.

All (christian at least) armoured units have big stamina penalty in desert. Islam armoured units might get to avoid it though not sure.

I found when I marched through the desert as Byzantines that my heavy armored units like kataphrakoi were useless, just getting them into the battle gets them "Quite tired" and soon they are "exhausted". I found that steppe cavalry was invaluable and I couldnt have got through withouth them.

All heavies get tired fast, even Muslims.
I don't know about the AUM though. Anybody know about them?

The rate of tiring in the desert depends only on the amount of armour worn. The more you have, the faster you get tired.

Does that include the armour upgrades to tiring faster???

My saharan cavalry are excellent in Palastine (as Elmoheads). Now up against Turks, and they can regularly chase off horse archers provided I rein them in quick.

Noticed however the ghulams became wiped out tired after one charge. Also the saharans recovered a "block" of energy seemingly after about 5 mins rest.
Very good feature, congrats to programmers; not been done in period figure gaming.

Pape, I hope improved armor reflects tougher protection without extra weight so that no penalty is imposed for upgrades.

Rest helps units recover from fatigue?
Is that so for all units or are there exceptions?

rest definately recovered my cavalry from fatigue.............I think I read it in the manual somewhere. Presumably quicker recovery for lighter troops.

Not all units will recover... Very heavy units will not recover from exhausted in th desert.
