Yahoooooo!!! :jumping: :jumping: :jumping: :bounce:
The detail is incredible. From the fine engravings in the greaves and gladius to the intricate mail, belt, medallions, and thigh protectors, I think I have yet to see a more beautiful texture. The face too is very realistic, and fingers are clearly defined. The meticulous work done on this skin is obvious, it must have taken Xprime weeks to create it. I find it hard to believe that this centurion was generated by the RTW engine and not beamed here from 2 millenniums ago.
Balloons for Xprime! :balloon2: :balloon2: :balloon2: :balloon2:
Outstanding stuff...can't wait to use him on the field...

also, those Roman are rich!AFAIK quite a few centurions came from the ordo equester by way of social background - and you had to be pretty wealthy per definition to rank that high.
Also, Xprime's work puts the "ave" back into "awesome". :sweatdrop:
That model\skin is without doubt the best work i have seen for RTW

ROMANI FTW!!!
Jesus Christ. If we can expect such detail from EB 1.0 (we already have amazing detail with the current version), I'll never touch another game again. Ever! (OK, I might, but it won't be so enjoyable).
This is incredible work guys. And if we add that the teaser said Fall 2007, well, Christmas will be HOT!!!
I can finally see the pic! Damn! That is awesome!

Hang on a sec. Is that for EB 1.0, or for EB2?!

EB 1.x I'm not sure if he made it into the 1.0 release build, but he will certainly be in the next hotfix/patch if not.

I absolutely agree that it looks fantastic, but as it's a Late Centurion, will it be a Marian/Imperial unit (and hence only in the game for about 3 turns)?

Don't insult us, please. Marian reforms last for quite some time, if you play things right (with just a tad of luck).
Imagine if they given so many hours on the centurion details, how good do other units look like. It's going to be hell of a fall this year.
outstanding! :beam:
hope we'll see it in the next build
Xprime / Zak,
Again, awe-inspiring stuff...makes me giddy about romping through the northern woods as the Romani...
Is this greater detail gonna mean a significant boost in PC hardware (video card, RAM) requirements? I think I'm good, but just wanna make sure...

I shouldn't think so, it is after all only a centurion.

WOW:jawdrop: incredible..... , EB skinners have some fantastic talent , i wouldin't be surprised if activision employed some of your staff . The roman looks like he's carved by mother dido herself. I really hope that the karth dastim units will look this good.
Just looking at the picture and I noticed he is wearing his scabbard on his left hip. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought the Romans wore it on the right.

The average legionairre wore their sword/scabbard on their right side, Centurions wore theirs on their left.

And IIRC this is only at 256x256; which is your standard EB texture size. (The family members are in 512x512, as are some horses.)

I stand corrected, thanks mjmehrer07 :2thumbsup:

All officers are at 512 so this one is too if would've been pretty impossible to have this much detail at 256.

All officers are at 512 so this one is too if would've been pretty impossible to have this much detail at 256.It is quite probable that XPrime works with 1024x1024 images and then reduces them to the proper size (units 256x256 and generals/officers/standard bearers 512x512).
